Chapter Seven: "From the Mouth of the Shabak"

After the assassination, the head of the Shabak (G.S.S./General Security Services), Carmi Gillon, his two officers in charge of Jewish "radicals" and their agent, Avishai Raviv, found themselves in deep, hot water. The post-assassination plan hit a snag; someone had leaked the truth about Raviv.

Gillon's first step was to appoint his own internal commission of "inquiry", but the public saw through the trick. This forced the government to appoint its own commission of "inquiry" headed by Chief Justice Shamgar who made a show of trying to get to the truth. He turned up the heat by sending letters to seven Shabak (G.S.S./General Security Services) officers, including Gillon and Jewish Activities Department head Khezi Kalo but pointedly not his [Kalo's] colleague, Eli Barak, who oversaw the Raviv operation. He [Shamgar] informed each [Shabak officer] that they were liable for criminal prosecution.

Some of their [Shabakofficers'] testimony leaked out to the public, though 30% remains buried in a vault for supposed "state-security" reasons. But from what little did escape from the mouths of the Shabak (G.S.S./General Security Services), we get a hint of the mentality of the men at the top charged with protecting Yitzhak Rabin from Yigal Amir.

There is a radicalization of the ideological law violations of the extreme right regarding the amount of activity and the force of this activity. Israeli society displays tolerance toward ideological lawbreakers of the extreme right and this grants, albeit belatedly, legitimacy to these activities.

A group of journalists met Carmi Gillon at the end of August. Among other things, he painted a portrait of a potential Jewish assassin of the Prime Minister. Without knowing it, he described Yigal Amir perfectly. He would be someone who didn't live in the territories, said the Shabak head, he will not be a joiner but an almost wise loner, who lives in Herzlea.

Yediot Ahronot, November 20, 1995

Quotes from the head of the Shabak at the Shamgar Commission are teaching us his defense. He is calling Amir a "lone nut" who awoke one day and decided to murder the prime minister without anyone's help. He claims nuts like these are very hard to identify so the murder was not caused by an "intelligence breakdown".

This is a very serious defense. Although Amir has testified that he worked alone, other evidence suggests that three or four other people were in on the secret. Amir was not exactly anti-social. Gillon's "lone nut" theory does not make sense.

The head of the Shabak had no doubt who the assassin was. The moment he was informed of the close-range shooting, by long distance phone, his first reaction was, "It was a Jew".

Avraham Rotem, former head of Personal Security for the Shabak (G.S.S./General Security Services) asks himself a few questions:

Where was the head of the Shabak last Saturday night? Abroad. What was he doing there? Not known. Something urgent. What's more urgent than protecting the life of the prime minister? He didn't know someone was going to murder Rabin.

Aah, he didn't know? So why is it written in the papers that a few months ago he warned Rabin that someone from the extreme right was planning to assassinate him? And then he went to the heads of the political parties to give the same warning and request that they prevent incitement to murder? You can't tell the prime minister that someone is going to murder him and then go back to routine security procedures.

It looks like Gillon knew the assassination was coming sometime around early September when he warned Rabin, political party heads and journalists of an impending murder of the prime minister by an almost-wise loner who does not live in the territories.

Forty-eight hours before the assassination Gillon felt impelled to fly to Paris, despite pleas from subordinates not to leave before the rally, on unknown "urgent" business. When told of the shooting, he knew immediately that "a Jew" did it.
Unfortunately for him [Gillon], he stuck to the original plan and, taking the Warren Commission findings to heart, he defended himself by calling Amir a "lone nut". But like Oswald, Amir was neither a loner nor a nut.

Despite this flimsy defense, and without asking the hard questions about his uncannily accurate predictions or what he was doing in Paris, Shamgar let Gillon off with a wrist slap.

Agent Kalo

He is the most mysterious Shabak (G.S.S./General Security Services) figure surrounding the assassination, even his first name was never leaked into the media. It is known that Eli Barak, as head of the Jewish Department of the Shabak, ran Aviv, but no one has properly delineated Kalo's role. All we know is that he was Barak's immediate superior.

The Shamgar Commission has begun examining the contradictions between police testimony and that of Agent Kalo. They are asking how the Shabak reacted to information coming out of Bar-Ilan University and why the Shabak was ignorant of the Shabbat activities in Judea and Samaria organized by Yigal Amir with Avishai Raviv.

According to the head of the Department of Jewish Activities (Kalo) during six hours of testimony at the Shamgar Commission, the Shabak requested that Raviv supply them with an overview of Amir's activities three months before the assassination.

Raviv returned from his field duties and told them of Amir's intention to harm Arabs. Kalo testified, "Raviv didn't know Amir's real intentions and did not inform us of his [Amir's] plans to harm Jews, including the Prime Minister".

Among those most surprised by the warning letter from Shamgar was Kheshin, who believes the cause of Rabin's assassination was a security, not intelligence, breakdown. He [Kheshin] believes the warning to him [from Shamgar] was totally unjustified.

The head of the Jewish Activities Department [Barak] claims he knew nothing of Yigal Amir's threats to Rabin at Bar-Ilan University and received a report from his agent, Avishai Raviv, three months before the murder, which completely ignored those very threats -- threats which Raviv had heard on numerous occasions.

Instead, he [Kalo] was told Amir wanted to beat up Arabs. This was patently false. The frail Amir refused to participate in any of the many Arab-beating forays into Hebron led by Raviv until once, shortly before the assassination when he was fortuitously filmed in action.

Can anyone believe this story? If it is true, Raviv was deliberately hiding the truth about Amir from Kalo while other subordinates purposely kept the intelligence from Bar-Ilan University away from his [Kalo's] prying eyes.

Eli Barak

He was the head of The Non-Arab Anti-Subversives Unit of the Shabak, usually called the Jewish Department. Kalo was his superior officer, hinting that the Jewish Activities Department was separate from his [Kalo's] own. Because the thirty percent of the Shamgar Commission report hidden from the public includes information on the Shabak's departmental infrastructure, the exact nature of the chain of command is not known. And because Shamgar excluded Barak from testifying in open session for reasons known as coverup, not much of what he has to say has been released. But some testimony made it to the light of day.

According to the London newspaper, The Observer, high Israeli security officials claim that officers of the Shabak knew about Yigal Amir's intention to murder Yitzhak Rabin. The highest ranking officer who knew was Eli Barak, head of the Jewish Department, who didn't take Amir's "ridiculous plans" seriously. The newspaper doesn't explain why Barak didn't pass on Amir's threats to the head of the Shabak and that the answer to this will have to come out at the commission of inquiry.


Ma'ariv, November 27, 1995

Eli Barak, head of the department which deals with Jewish extremists, testified that Avishai Raviv didn't know that Yigal Amir intended to murder Yitzhak Rabin. He only reported that he was an activist at Bar-Ilan University. According to Barak, Amir decided on his own to murder Rabin and that no one could have stopped him.

The former head of the Mossad, Committee member Tzvi Zamir, asked Barak to explain why the Shabak (G.S.S./General Security Services) did not act on Shlomi Halevy's report to the police that a short, Yemenite member of Eyal [phoney "right wing" Shabak-created front organization headed by Shabak agent Avishair Raviv] was threatening Rabin. The committee stressed that, because Halevi was a soldier of the Intelligence Brigade, red lights should have lit up.

Barak's answer was never published. The little tidbit we have of Barak suggests that he coordinated testimony with Gillon and pushed the "lone nut" theory. He [Barak] also seems to have had a good talk with Kalo, but with a difference. While Kalo claimed to have been ignorant of Amir's campus radicalism, Raviv chose to inform Barak about it. However, both agree that agent Raviv did not know Amir had any plans to murder Rabin.

Avishai Raviv

We know that Avishai Raviv was a Shabak (G.S.S./General Security Services) agent from at least 1987, when the Dean of Tel Aviv University, Itamar Rabinovitch, tried to expel him for extremist activities. Prime Minister Shamir sent his aide, Yossi Achimeir, to intervene with Rabinovitch on Raviv's behalf. Thus, at the time of the assassination Raviv had been in the Shabak for at least eight years and probably had risen to high rank.

But finding quotes from him [Raviv] that are not staged extremism is tough. In November, 1996, the news magazine Kol Ha'Ir tracked him [Raviv] down to his secret place of work in a Tel Aviv institute for autistic children. Why he has to work at all is a mystery, but presumably autistic children will not recognize him. He [Raviv] did not say much to the reporter but admitted, "No one would believe what I know and cannot tell". For presumably if he did, he would disappear for good.

We also know that he [Raviv] lied at the trial of Haggai Amir [Yigal Amir's brother]. He [Raviv] told the court, "I never worked for or was associated with the Shabak".

Finally, we also know the court system is rigged because it accepted the perjured testimony [of Avishai Raviv] without protest.

Is Administrative Detention For Israelis Just?

Undoubtedly, the Federman case is one of the cases that awakes controversy among those who defend Israel, those who believe that terrorists want peace with Israel, those who just let terrorism claim more blood without imprisoning terrorist leaders who openly take credit for genocide bombings, and those who support the liberation of Arab-Palestinian terrorist prisoners.

The point is not whether people agree or disagree with Noam Federman's politics, but that as an Israeli, his civil rights should have been respected. While 400 Arab-Palestinian terrorists possibly are about to be liberated, Federman is still seen by many as the mastermind behind the alleged Jewish terrorist underground. Is it fair to consider him a terrorist or a citizen defending his right to live peacefully in Israel? Who is attacking whom and who is being defended from?

Noam Federman is detained under administrative detention. Let us stop here. What does it mean being in "administrative detention"? Supposedly, it means to hold a person prisoner when there is credible intelligence that such a person is about to commit a terrorist attack. The argument here is that Federman was arrested for allegedly masterminding terrorist attacks against Arab-Palestinians hiding behind the new Jewish terrorist underground.

Then, wait a minute. If this is the current Israeli law to be used in "emergency situation," why it has not been applied to the self-confessed terrorist leaders of Hamas, Hizbullah, Islamic Jihad, and Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigade, among others? The emergency situation is clear in these cases when they even announce future terrorist attacks. Ironically, they not only announce them, and not only fulfill their attacks but also proudly take credit for killing and maiming innocent Jews. And then, they are treated and celebrated by Arafat and almost every Arab-Palestinians, not as murderers, but as martyrs.

Have not terrorists publicly confessed being responsible for many of the terrorist attacks including genocide bombings? Besides Israeli intelligence has a lot of evidence about terrorist leaders. Something here is just not making sense. Federman, allegedly, was imprisoned for fear that he might plan attacks against Arab-Palestinians within Israel. Why is it then that the Arab-Palestinians terrorists in Judea, Samaria and Gaza are not also detained, but instead they are even encouraged and supported by Arafat and the neighboring states, such as Iran, Libya, and Syria that are sponsoring terrorism?

It is not a crime to allow the growing terrorist campaign whose goal is to destroy Israel, a democratic country since its modern foundation in 1948? Sarcastically, terrorist leaders with clear evidence of terrorist participation, including Yasser Arafat, former terrorist leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and now Chairman of the Palestinian Authority, are still walking out free planning more and more terrorists attacks. Let us not forget that Alksa Martyrs Brigade, responsible for many terrorist attacks, is nothing else but a military arm of the Palestinian Authority.

One can argue that Arafat, in a sense, is under special prison treatment because he cannot leave his headquarters in Ramallah. Well, he might be under special prison treatment but he still operates and officially commands the Palestinian Authority. This is where the controversy starts. For instance, the head of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Ra'ad Salah, received only a restraining order after he was accused of raising funds for the terrorist group of Hamas. Does it mean that Federman is more dangerous than Arafat and Ra'ad Salah and other Arab-Palestinian terrorist leaders?

Therefore, some argue that the use of "administrative detention" is being used as a tool against those who oppose the destruction of Yesha towns, which are located in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Federman resides precisely in Hebron, part of Yesha towns. Will this mean that residents in those areas, who oppose to leave their towns and decide to defend against terrorist attacks, will also be imprisoned for "fear" that they will attack Arab-Palestinians terrorists?

Now, there is enough intelligence information about the whereabouts of known terrorist leaders in Judea and Samaria. Why not then going after them to apply this "emergency situation" instead of letting them plan, announce, and commit their publicized terrorist attacks?

Can the "administrative detention" law make more logical to imprison real terrorist leaders and not people or Israeli citizens who want to defend Israel precisely from those genocide attacks? This reminds us of the case of the American Christian-Zionist David Ben-Ariel, who was imprisoned allegedly for trying to destroy the Dome of the Rock for the reconstruction of the Jewish Temple. Ben-Ariel repetitively declared that he was there only to protest, not to destroy the Mosque.

Attorney Naftali Wurtzberger, who defended Federman, also represented David Ben-Ariel during his trial in Israeli High Court and Jerusalem's Municipal Court. Ben-Ariel is now free and back in the United States. Yet, the Israeli government estimated that Ben-Ariel cannot visit Israel and that he might be eligible to return in 2005. Why not deporting the leaders of terrorist groups who are living, apparently with more rights, in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza?

Therefore, the Federman situation has caused many Israelis to reexamine their conscience. Again, the controversy arises. Federman, an Israeli, who has not committed a genocide attack, was imprisoned under "emergency situation," while the Israeli government has agreed to free about 400 Arab-Palestinians terrorists.

The condition is that they must be without "blood on their hands" and with less than 3 years remaining from their prison sentences. It is naive to believe that these 400 terrorists will obey "a promissory note for not continuing with terrorism." Plus, instead of being deported, they will be sent to Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Does this means a victory for the terrorists and a slap for Federman and Ben-Ariel? Simply, something is not clicking.

Ironically, it appears that terrorism is the one dictating the terms for peace negotiations. Is it that negotiation for liberation of verified Arab-Palestinians terrorists is more negotiable than that of Federman? Point blank is that genocide bombings did not stop, but increased. This is why the fence has been adopted as a "security measure." Hence, there are two questions.

First, is it fair to consider Federman as a terrorist or a citizen defending Israel? Remember, is not a matter whether people agree or disagree with Federman's politics, but about Israeli civil rights. Second, can this "emergency situation law" be applied immediately to all known terrorist leaders in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza? What do you think?

Eran S. and his wife, parents to a five-month-old daughter, have been forced to leave their home in the Lehava neighborhood of Yitzhar in the Shomron and move to Jerusalem. The reason: Eran, together with nearly 20 other young residents of the Shomron, suddenly received a military order several weeks ago preventing him from living in his home. No reason was given, and the General Security Service says the "evidence" against him is too secret and potentially dangerous to be publicized to anyone.

The Land of Israel Forum claims in its Supreme Court suit that the order, "which restricts the freedom of an Israeli citizen as an administrative measure," is illegal in that it may be handed down only by virtue of a Knesset law - and not by order of the IDF Commander of the Central District.

The orders are in fact signed by O.C. Central Commander Maj.-Gen. Ya'ir Naveh.

The Forum claims that "whenever the government finds itself in a dead end security-wise, diplomatically and/or internationally," the Jewish settlers of Judea and Samaria become the national "punching bag" and bear the brunt of "new, sudden plans to evacuate and destroy outposts and issue exaggeratedly-restrictive orders."

Banned From Home
Over the past few months, 20 activist Jews from various outpost neighborhoods in Judea and Samaria have received orders keeping them out of the entire region. The orders are for between three and six months. Some of the men have families with up to five children, and some have no relatives outside Yesha.

The expelled residents and many of their neighbors feel that the government is merely trying to pave the way for the destruction of the outposts and neighborhoods in which they live, and weaken the local morale in general.

Among them are:
* Ariel Gruner, 21, married + 1, whose orders kept him bound to a house in an unfamiliar, secular Jordan Valley community were to expire next week. He has already received his new orders: a three-month ban on entering Judea and Samaria.

* Meir Bertler, whose wife is expecting their second child any day, who was distanced for a half-year from his home in the Bayit HaAdom (Red House) near Shilo.

* Boaz Albert of Hilltop 725 in Yitzhar, married with five children, who was distanced from his home for a full year.

* Yehoyariv Meguri of the young Ronen neighborhood in Brachah, married with one child, distanced for a full year and currently forced to live in the north.

One of the youngest of the 20 is Elad Keller, aged 19, who has been in prison for six weeks - because he refuses to agree to what he calls the "unjust and undemocratic" orders to throw him out of his home and yeshiva. A resident of Maon, with his parents, in southern Judea, and a student in the Yitzhar yeshiva in Samaria, he has refused to sign the orders keeping him away from both places - and has therefore been placed in jail "until the end of the proceedings" against him.

Elad was violently arrested - receiving bruises on his neck and above his eye - and thrown into jail in mid-October.

As Elad explained in court at the time, "A group of policemen came into my house one morning suddenly, telling me I have to leave Yesha. I asked why, and they said, 'Because.'"

Elad's mother Ruth said, "An injustice has clearly been done, and we support our son in whatever decision he makes. He could, if he want, simply sign the orders and agree to stay out of Yesha - but he refuses to cooperate with such injustice." She and her husband Ben-Tzion and several other parents of sons in similar situations have gotten together and are working on various fronts to bring the issue to the public consciousness.

"Knesset Members from several parties have gotten together," Ruth said, "with each one 'adopting' one of our sons. MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union), for instance, has adopted our son, and he visited Elad in jail, for which we are very appreciative."

Recently, then-Acting Justice Minister Meir Sheetrit promised, as did Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh, to personally look into all the cases. They made the promises in a Knesset session on the matter initiated by MK Uri Ariel. However, an aide to Ariel told Arutz-7 today that no results of any such reviews have yet been received from them.

The aide said that MK Ariel is now preparing legislation that would ban such orders from being signed by IDF generals, and would require them to be issued only by the Defense Minister.

Israel's betrayal of the Jews continues...Why am I not surprised? Because the UNJews also treat Christian-Zionists hatefully and only love those who hate them and want to destroy Israel. I know, since they unjustly deported me, as brought out in Israel's Unjust Deportation of David Ben-Ariel.

May Queen Elizabeth II use her Christmas message to educate the world of her Davidic ancestry and biblical responsibilities and announce she will no longer participate in heathen customs and pagan holidays that masquerade as Christian but will begin to love and obey God and keep the biblical festivals that God has blessed Israel with to share with all the world.

Most of us know the story of the first Thanksgiving—at least, we know the Pilgrim version. But how many of us know the Indian viewpoint?

No, I’m not talking about some revisionist, politically correct version of history. I’m talking about the amazing story of the way God used an Indian named Squanto as a special instrument of His providence.

Historical accounts of Squanto’s life vary, but historians believe that around 1608—more than a decade before the Pilgrims arrived—a group of English traders sailed to what is today Plymouth, Massachusetts. When the trusting Wampanoag Indians came out to trade, the traders took them prisoner, transported them to Spain, and sold them into slavery. It was an unimaginable horror.

But God had an amazing plan for one of the captured Indians—a boy named Squanto.

Squanto was bought by a well-meaning Spanish monk, who treated him well and taught him the Christian faith. Squanto eventually made his way to England and worked in the stables of a man named John Slaney. Slaney sympathized with Squanto’s desire to return home, and he promised to put the Indian on the first vessel bound for America.

It wasn’t until 1618—ten years after Squanto was first kidnapped—that a ship was found. Finally, after a decade of exile and heartbreak, Squanto was on his way home.

But when he arrived in Massachusetts, more heartbreak awaited him. An epidemic had wiped out Squanto’s entire village.

We can only imagine what must have gone through Squanto’s mind: Why had God allowed him to return home, against all odds, only to find his loved ones dead?

A year later, the answer came. A shipload of English families arrived and settled on the very land once occupied by Squanto’s people. Squanto went to meet them, greeting the startled Pilgrims in English.

According to the diary of Pilgrim Governor William Bradford, Squanto “became a special instrument sent of God for [our] good . . . He showed [us] how to plant [our] corn, where to take fish and to procure other commodities . . . and was also [our] pilot to bring [us] to unknown places for [our] profit, and never left [us] till he died.”

When Squanto lay dying of a fever, Bradford wrote that their Indian friend “desir[ed] the Governor to pray for him, that he might go to the Englishmen’s God in heaven.” Squanto bequeathed his possessions to the Pilgrims “as remembrances of his love.”

Who but God could so miraculously convert a lonely Indian and then use him to save a struggling band of Englishmen? It is reminiscent of the biblical story of Joseph, who was also sold into slavery—and whom God, likewise, used as a special instrument for good.

Squanto’s life story is remarkable, and we ought to make sure our children and grandchildren learn about it. Sadly, most books about Squanto omit references to his Christian faith. But I’m delighted to say that Eric Metaxas has written a wonderful children’s book called Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving. I highly recommend it. It will teach your kids about the “special instrument sent of God” who changed the course of American history.

Is there a King or Queen still sitting on the Throne of Judah?...


A. B. Grimaldi: THE possible descent of Queen Victoria from King David was first entered upon in the present day by Rev. F. R A. Glover, M.A. ("England the Remnant of Judah." London, 1861). He did not, however, attempt to give the genealogy link by link, nor enter into the proofs in detail. Since then the whole subject of Her Majesty's Jewish ancestry has been further examined by various students and writers on our Israelitish origin. Mr. J. C. Stephens has compiled a "Genealogical Chart, shewing the Connection between the House of David and the Royal Family of Britain." (Liverpool, 1877.) This gives the descent from Abraham to Zedekiah in full, as found in Matthew. It then gives twelve generations only between Heremon, B.C. 580, and Victoria, A.D. 1819, thus, of course, omitting a great number of links. The descent of our Royal Family from the royal line of Judah is, however, no new discovery. The Saxon kings traced themselves back to Odin, who was traced back to his descent from David, as may be seen in a very ancient MS. in the Herald's College, London; and in Sharon Turner. ("History of the Anglo-Saxons," vol. i.) The full and complete genealogy of Victoria from David does not appear to have been ever printed; and it has, therefore, been thought that it would be useful, as well as interesting, to put it on record, both for reference and testimony. In its compilation reliable works of reference have been used - such as Anderson ("Royal Genealogies." London, 1732). Keating ("History of Ireland." Dublin, 1723), Lavoisne ("Genealogical and Historical Atlas." London, 1814), as well as those mentioned above, and others. Perfect accuracy is hardly to be expected in such an attempt; but it is believed that the genealogy is as correct as our present knowledge of this obscure and intricate subject will permit.

In the following genealogy those who reigned have K prefixed to their names. The dates after private names refer to their birth and death; those after Sovereign's names, to their accession and death. Wherever known, the wives have been mentioned. Besides those mentioned in Genesis, some have been obtained from Polano ("The Talmud." London, 1877). b. and d. stand for born and died.

Dear Princess Diana,

This letter was prompted by an issue of People magazine.

Actually that particular article was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Some years ago I had an impressive dream. During the dream you, Prince Charles and myself were engaged in an intense talk. We were sitting around though quite relaxed, comfortable amongst each other (at east as if we'd known each other for years as good friends), in an enclosed patio or spring porch - a garden atmosphere. I recall you did most of the talking -- pouring out your heart to me -- as Prince Charles sort of quietly listened. Perhaps it's because we're closer in age. I'm 27. As I began to awaken from the dream I became upset with how foolish to imagine the Royalty of Wales taking me into their confidence. I kneeled for morning prayer and asked God to rebuke such presumptuous thoughts, but asked if there were any significance to the dream that a chart I had ("The Heritage of the Anglo-Saxon Race") loaned out months earlier be returned at Sabbath services that day.

Lo and behold, the chart was returned that day! Rather convenient, since when I arrived home I had received a memo in the mail from our local newspaper. I had submitted a question to them whether the present British Royal Family were aware of their unique Davidic ancestry -- the remarkable continuation of King David's dynasty. I felt my question could be answered while also cleverly bringing this royal fact to greater public attention if published. An unexpected turn of events occurred though! The newspaper related: "If you send us a copy of the information on King David and his relationship to the English Royal Family, plus a verification that such information has been validated and by whom, we will see to it that it gets to Buckingham Palace and that your name will accompany it." Immediately I wondered what to send to satisfy the newspaper. The chart seemed obvious, but I still sought counsel from my minister. He advised writing a Church official at our Headquarter's in Pasadena, California who is English and involved with our Media Coordinator. The Church official replied: "I believe the most prudent course of action would be to send the chart 'The Heritage of the Anglo-Saxon Race' to the newspaper for their further action."

I sent the information to the newspaper and they sent it to Buckingham Palace. They also cautioned me not to hold my breath for any response, which was good since I haven't heard a word yet.

Several years later, during my volunteer service at Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan in Northern Israel, a Holocaust survivor (whom I adopted as my "kibbutz mother") mentioned hearing about some royal marital problems. I dismissed it as gossip from some tabloid trash -- but then immediately I recalled the dream where you were pouring out your heart to me about something. So I thought perhaps there's something to all these godless rumors, but all marriages have their ups and downs.

Since then I've heard too many royal rumors & sovereign stories about differences in your marriage. The latest People article prompted me to write you and sincerely offer my continued support for you and your lovely family. My heart goes out to you all with deep affection.

Holy Jerusalem and the Temple of God

Speaking of some of the saints who were temporarily restored to physical life to testify about Yeshua's resurrection, after jealous Jewish leaders delivered Him to the bloody Romans to murder, we find, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit:

Matthew 27:53

...and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into THE HOLY CITY and appeared to many.

Paul, speaking of the imminent Third Temple, the holy TEMPLE OF GOD (the Temple of God - not just of the Jews or any other conspiracy theory that contradicts Scripture), that Europe's wannabe divine emperor will pollute, coveting it since Satan knows (even if some religious folks don't) it is the TEMPLE OF GOD:

2 Thessalonians 2:4

...who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the TEMPLE OF GOD, showing himself that he is God.

Speaking of the imminent Third Temple and EU occupation of Jerusalem (whose days are numbered when they trespass upon the Temple Mount), and simultaneous ministry of the Two Witnesses, the apostle John was inspired by the Holy Spirit to foretell:

Revelation 11:1-3

1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the TEMPLE OF GOD [not merely of the Jews or of the Masons or Illuminati or whoever], the altar, and those who worship there. 2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread THE HOLY CITY underfoot for forty-two months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

Speaking of the imminent clash between Catholic Europe and Islam with Jerusalem's holy Temple Mount caught in the middle:

Daniel 11:40-45

At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.

Jerusalem is holy in the biblical sense it has been called to fulfill its awesome calling to become the City of our God, the City of the Great King. It has been sanctified, set apart for a holy purpose that it will soon fulfill. It is holy, even though it is a sinful city, just like Israel and Judah are holy, set apart, sanctified, and need to learn to live holy lives.

The New Jerusalem doesn't come down from Heaven until after the initial thousand year reign of Christ who will subdue all opposition and destroy all enemies, including death and Satan when the Earth is purified by fire. Then the Father comes with New Jerusalem - the Sabbath-keepingChurch of God is a type of it.

Meanwhile, we pray for Judah and intercede for Jerusalem:

Isaiah 62:1-2

1 For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
And her salvation as a lamp that burns.
2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness,
And all kings your glory.
You shall be called by a new name,
Which the mouth of the LORD will name.

Isaiah 62:6-7

6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
7 And give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

These watchmen are the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11 -- Two Witnesses who will testify in Jerusalem against Europe. They will announce to the cities of Judah and comfort captive Israel (all Twelve Tribes) that our God will come and save us.

Isaiah 35:4

4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,

"Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you."

Isaiah 25:9

9 And it will be said in that day:

"Behold, this is our God;
We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the LORD;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation."

Israel in the Isles

We must keep in mind the fact that the Lord cast Israel afar off to the isles of the sea, and then, through the prophet Isaiah, commanded silence for a certain period, or until the people should have renewed their strength. This same prophet, in the first verse of the forty-ninth chapter, again addresses the people who dwell in the isles as follows:

"LISTEN, O isles, unto me: and hearken, ye people from afar" (Isa. 49:1);
and then makes the declaration:

"Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified." (v. 3)

Israel, as we know, was cast out of her land for idolatry, and Baal-ism was one of her chief idolatries. Before she was cast out she seems to have acquired the habit of attaching the name of the god Baal to places and cities, for on the ancient maps of Palestine we find Baal-meon, Baal-gad, Baal-ath, Baal-shalisha, Baal-Tamar, Baal-peor, Baal-hazor, Baal-zephon, Mt. Baalah, and others.

But surely these people carried that same proclivity with them to the islands, for in Ireland this name of the god Baal is found just as frequently, if not more frequently, a circumstance which shows that this idol was honored and worshipped by her eastern colonists. The Rev. T. R. Howlett furnishes us with the following list of Baal-it-ish names found in Ireland: Baal-y-Bai, Baal-y-gowan, Baal-y-Nahinsh, Baal-y-Castell, Baal-y-Moni, Baal-y-ner, Baal-y-Garai, Baal-y-nah, Baal-y-Con-El, Baal-y-Hy, Baal-y-Hull-Ish, Baal-NahBrach, Baal-Athi, Baal-Dagon.

Regarding the evidence given by these names, Howlett says:

"These certainly are memorials of the Baal worship once prevailing in Ireland. In them we have not only the name of Baal, but its conjunction also with other Hebrew names. How can this be accounted for, except as they were so called by emigrants from Phoenicia and Palestine?"

"One thing that particularly marks the Hebrew origin of these names is their attachment to places but not to persons. The Canaanites and Phoenicians, attached the names of their gods, Baal, Bal, Bel to persons, as Eth-Baal, Itho-bal, Asdru-bal and Han-i-bal. These were family names among the heathen nations surrounding Israel. In like manner, we find among the chosen people the names of their God associated with and forming a part of family and personal names; as "El" and "Jah," in Isra-el, Ishma-el,, Lemu-el, Samu-el, Ezeki-el, El-isha, El-ijah. Baal never found favor among the Hebrews as a personal name, though used freely for localities. They gave it to their towns, but not to their children. Its use in Ireland is proof of the Israelitish origin of the earliest settlers -- philological evidence of racial unity."

But this custom of thus using the name of Baal has long since passed away from the descendents of those who settled in "INNIS PHAIL" -- an Island Wonderful -- and her sister isles. These islands need no longer keep silent, for their people have renewed their strength and thus the isles are yielding up their secrets. Hence, we should not be surprised that the name of Baal is no longer in the mouth of their people. By the mouth of the prophet Hosea, whom the Lord used to declare that he would hedge up the way of Ephraim Israel, so that she could not find her paths, he also says:

"I will take away the names of Baal-im (plural of Baal) out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name," (Hosea 2:17).

But just prior to this saying the Lord has given a prophecy, of which this is but a part, the sequence of that which precedes it, and which reads as follows:

"Behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness [the hitherto uninhabited country], and speak comfortably to her heart [Margin]. And I will give her vineyards from thence [there], and the valley of Achor [sorrow] for a door of hope; and she shall sing as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came out of the land of Egypt. And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi [my husband]; and shalt call me no more Baali. For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth." (Hosea 2:14-17)

All idolatrous names were taken from the mouth of Israel, not so much because they had reached that God-appointed place where they were to be moved no more, and where the children of wickedness were not to waste them as at the first, but because they had passed out from their former sorrow through the door of hope, which was caused by the fact that their Lord had spoken comforting words to their hearts, and because she could look up in love to him and say, "Ishi -- my husband." The reason for this heart-experienced hope will become clearer as we proceed with the prophetic history of this people, whose centralization of racial life and power is in those islands which are northwest of Palestine.

But in this same forty-ninth chapter of Isaiah, after letting us know that Israel is located in the isles, the prophet foretells some events in the future history of that island nation. Among these predicted events we find the following:

"Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One: In the time of favour [grace] have I heard thee, and in the day of salvation [the Christian era] have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and I will appoint thee, as a people of the covenant, to establish the earth, to cause [thee] to inherit the desolate heritages." (Isa. 49:8)

In this quotation we have, for the sake of clearness, followed in part both the King James and the Isaac Leeser translations. The italicized phrase is from Leeser, and is remarkable for its clearness, especially in its use of the article "a" before people, because Ephraim-Israel, although not all the people, is distinctly a people, of the covenant; and as a people of the covenant she is appointed to establish, people, or cause to be inhabited, the desolate, uninhabited places of the earth. These desolate localities are given to Israel as an inheritance, and she has needed them in fulfilling the destiny of the Birthright Kingdom of Israel -- that of becoming many nations, or a company of nations.

But we must now notice the word covenant, since it is used in the phrase as a people of the covenant. The Hebrew word for covenant is Beriyth, which in Judges 8:33 and 9:4 is used as a proper name, and, for that reason, it is simply transferred into the English text without being translated. It is given there as the name of one of the idols of Israel, namely: Baal-beriyth, and means Baal of (the) covenant. Also the Hebrew words Ben-iysh Yemiyniy are translated "Son of a man of Jemini. Thus Ben means "a son," lysh, "a man," and Yemiyniy, Jemini. The Anglicized form of these words are Ben, ish and jamin, and, taken together, they mean "A man of Benjamin, or a Benjamite."

We have brought you through this group of words to show that ish in Hebrew means a man. Now take the Hebrew word which is translated covenant, which in its original form has no vowel, but which in its Anglicized form retains the vowel i to preserve the y sound, and we have Brith, which joined with ish is Brith-ish, and means "A covenant man." Today the BRITISH people, or men of the covenant, are called Britons, and are dwelling in the British Isles!!!

We are told that the people of Waels call themselves, in ancient Welsh, "Bryth y Brithan," or " Briths of Briton," which means "The Covenanters" of "the land of the Covenant." The first form of this phrase is almost vernacular Hebrew.

It is also unmistakably recorded in British history that the earliest settlers in Wales and southern England were called Simonii. They came by the way of the sea in the year 720 B. C. At this time there was the greatest influx of the Tuatha de Daanan to Ireland, and this synchronizes with the deportation of the Israelites of the commonwealth of Ephraim to Assyria, and the flight of Dan and Simeon from the seaports and coast country of Palestine. That Simonii is the plural of Simeon we need scarcely mention.

But all evidences of the fulfillment of this prophecy are not philological, for Isaiah, still addressing the Israelites who dwell in the islands, predicts the following:

"For thy waste and desolate places, and the land of thy destruction [the destruction of their identity], shall even now be too narrow [pressed, straightened] by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up [the Assyrians] shall be far away."

"The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears: The place is too straight [small, crowded, cramped] for me; give a place to me that I may dwell," (Isa. 49:19-20).

Here are a people called Israel who are living in the isles of the sea. They have lost one company of people, and yet their children say that the place is still too small, cramped and crowded, because there are too many inhabitants for such a small country. Consequently they ask the Mother Country to give them a place also. Or, according to Leeser's translation, they say, "Make room for me to dwell," and the Mother Country must do it, because it is she to whom the Lord has given the desolate heritages of the earth.

Mark this! It is also said of the mother country, or Mother Israel, that she "lost" her first children before other of her children asked for territory in which to dwell.

England is the only country on the face of the earth where these conditions obtain. Her first child was called New England, but she LOST it, and now it -- together with that which, for various reasons, has been annexed -- is called The United States of America.

But, after losing her American colonies, her work of colonizing non-populated portions of the world kept right on; until today through the power of these colonies she holds possession of Prince Edward's Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Vancouver's Island, New Foundland and Canada. All of these are unitedly called the Dominion of Canada, and to these are added the six States of Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, British India, the Fiji Islands and parts of Africa, Egypt and China. So that now the sun never sets on the realm of the United Kingdom.

But we should expect this, and even more, for according to Jer. 31:9-10, the Israel which is located in the Isles is none other than Ephraim, the Abrahamic Birthright People, of whom the Lord says:

"I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my first born."

Ephraim, as we have shown, was the second son of Joseph. But when the birthright blessing was given to Joseph in his sons, Ephraim, the younger, was set before Manasseh, the elder. They were to remain together, however, until they grew into a multitude in the midst of the earth. After that they were to separate; then Manasseh was to become a "great" people, or nation, and Ephraim was to become "a multitude, or company of nations."

The people in the British Isles did certainly grow together until they became a multitude of people in the earth, and then they separated. The separated people has become a great nation, and those who were left in the isles have become a multitude of nations. The government of the separated people is democratic, the people in the isles still live, as they ever must, under a monarchy, but the two peoples are, as Joseph's two sons were, brothers; and they even call each other "Brother John" and "Brother Jonathan." There are no other nations on earth who thus brother each other.

The facts recorded above are also in fulfillment of another prophecy given by dying Jacob concerning Joseph, which reads as follows:

"Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well [water], whose branches run over the wall," (Gen. 49:22).

An objector has said: "But I believe the words 'a multitude of nations' means a multitude of different nationalities." If this be the true meaning of these words, then surely England, with her sixteen nations in British India, her Indians and Esquimaux of British America, her Fiji Islanders and New Zealanders, and her subjects of still other nationalities, which are absolutely too numerous to mention -- surely England is a multiplicity of nationalities. Still we do not believe this to be the meaning of the words under discussion, but we do believe that this fact of England's thus ruling so many nationalities, and of America's holding dominion over the Sandwich Isles, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Philippines is the fulfillment of a promise that Israel shall inherit the lands and labor of the heathen, which is given as follows:

"He brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness: and gave them the lands of the heathen; and they inherited the labour of the people; that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord," (Psa. 105:43-45).

The Bible follows Anglo-Saxon conquests, and some of the people in all these nations both receive and keep the law of God.

We must remember that Ephraim and Manasseh, as the representatives of the house of Joseph, both together received the birthright blessing under the hands of the dying patriarch, and that since they thus jointly hold the birthright blessing, even though Ephraim was set before Manasseh, we may expect that they shall hold many of its blessings in common. Take, for instance, the blessing pronounced upon the land of Joseph, as given by Moses on the day of his death, which is only an enlarged edition of that which was given by Jacob on the day of his death, and which is as follows:

"And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven [rain], for the dew, and for the deep[ocean] that croucheth beneath [his vessels], and for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and the precious things put forth from moon to moon, and through the chief [best] things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the everlasting hills, and the precious things of the earth and the fullness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let this blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren."

"His glory is like the firstling [firstborn] of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of an unicorn [the unicorn is in the national seal of England] with them he [Joseph] shall push the people together to the ends of the earth; and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh," (Deut. 33:13-17).

This promise of wealth on land and sea, of abundant harvests, of rare gems and precious stones, of the richest and the greatest mining interests in the world, is fulfilled in England and America. It is also true that these nations, not only push the aborigines of their possessions into the ends, or corners, of their countries, but they also push the people of other nations with whom they war into corners. Concerning America and her aborigines, we need only say, "Lo, the poor Indian," and ask, Where is he? And then ask the same question concerning the aborigines of the countries which fall into the hands of England. Just here the alien testimony of the Russian Vernadsky is pertinent. He says,

"Britain is a spider whose web encompasses the whole world within her own dominions. She has all the resources of all the continents. Her empire is stronger and vaster than any coalition of other states. She is a standing menace to all other powers, and her increasing strength is destructive to the balance of power. Nevertheless, unsatisfied and insatiable, she is grasping for more territory. Yesterday she seized Fiji; the day before she took the Diamond fields; today she annexed Transvaal, and tomorrow she will clutch Egypt. It is only too clear that the power of Britain is too great to be compatible with the general safety, and that the aggressive empire, unless speedily checked, will establish a universal dominion over all the people of the earth."

Our reply to this expressed fear concerning Britain is "universal dominion," is that England alone will not gain this, but that England and America will yet form an alliance and that then they shall push the people to the ends of the earth, for it is foretold that they, Ephraim and Manasseh, "together" shall do this, and also that,

"Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the whole WORLD with fruit," (Isa. 27:6).

The fulfillment of these promised blessings, which were pronounced upon the land of Joseph, by the people in the isles and their "separated" brother, is the cause of the fulfillment of another prophecy given by Isaiah concerning this same people, which is as follows:

"Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon [Palestinean seaport], that pass over the sea have replenished. And by great waters [same place as in Ezekiel's riddle] the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river is her revenue; and she is the mart of nations," (Isa. 23:2-3)

The Sihor is a river in Egypt. Israel dwelt in Egypt for four hundred and thirty years, hence they were formerly from Egypt, latterly from Palestine, now in the isles of the Great Waters!!! Moreover, the birthright holders were born Egyptians. Thus the Lord says, "When Israel was a child, then I loved him and called my son out of Egypt" (Hosea 11:1). It is for these reasons that, in the Bible, the Ephraim Israelites are in two places called Egyptians.

This fact of calling Israel out of Egypt is doubly true in the case of Israel; first in the fact that when Israel was a child (a young nation), the Lord called her out of Egypt; second in the fact that the Lord's son, Ephraim his first born was called out of Egypt. This was also true again, after the flight of Joseph and Mary into Egypt with the babe under the protection of an angel, for it is again written, "Out of Egypt have I called my son." (Matt. 2:15)

But there is another prophecy in Isaiah which has been most wonderfully fulfilled in the history of Ephraim and his brother Manasseh, i.e., England and America, the long lost house of Joseph. It is the following:

"The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. And all the people shall know, even Ephraim, and the inhabitants of Samaria," (Isa. 9:8-9).

Here we have the names of Samaria-Ephraim-Israel, the birthright kingdom, used prophetically. In connection with these names is the fact that the Lord sent a word to Jacob, and that it lighted not upon Judah, but upon Israel, and that all the people of Ephraim "shall know" this.

Hear this!

"Ye chosen seed of Israel's race –

Ye ransomed from the fall!"

Again we say, hear this!

"In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us full of grace and truth. He came to his own [Judah] and his own [the Jews] received him not." (John 1:1-4,11,14)

So he said to his disciples, "Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Matt. 10:6). Christ, the Divine WORD was "SENT" "into Jacob," bringing life, light, grace, and truth, but Judah rejected the word sent from God, so it lighted upon Israel. Thus, the Apostle Paul, who was brought up at the feet of Gamaliel, and who was raised a Pharisee of the strictest sort, understood himself perfectly, when he said,

"Israel [as a whole] hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election [Ephraim-Israel] hath obtained it, and the rest [Jewish-Israel] were blinded" (Rom. 11:7).


"as concerning the gospel are enemies; but as touching the election [racial] are beloved for the fathers' sakes." (v. 28).


"blindness in part [or blindness to a part] is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in." (v. 25)

But of that part of the elect race which is appointed to be the recipients of the word which God sent. Paul says, "There is a remnant according to the election of grace," (Rom. 11:5) and it is the people who belong to the election of grace, that follow the colonies of that elect race, and plant the standard of the gospel of the grace of the Son of God among the nations of the earth. Thus the Messianic promise, which the Lord made to Abraham, that in his seed all the nations of the earth should be blessed, has received a double fulfillment, in that those who carry the message of the One Seed, are also the seed of Abraham. This is true either nationally or spiritually, for all who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ, are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. And it is also true that the Anglo-Saxons are pre-eminently the evangelists of the world.

Chapter Six: "Dry Run"

In early September, 1994, the folks responsible for the Rabin assassination sting conducted a wide ranging practice round. Seventeen Jews were arrested and held without charge for days. Later the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] and Police proudly proclaimed that they had busted the "Vengeance Underground", a "Jewish militia" which planned to stage "terror attacks" against Arab villages and against the bastion of the P.L.O. {Palestine Liberation Organization] in Jerusalem, Orient House.

The seventeen were charged with conspiracy to commit murder. There was an immediate problem with the conspiracy charge: None of the accused knew each other. The only thing they had in common was being framed by Reserve Brigadier General Yisrael Blumental of the I.D.F.'s [Israel Defense Forces'] Hebron Brigade and Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] agent, Yves Tibi.

Of the seventeen, the most publicized case was against Lieutenant Oren Edri, who was arrested while serving in Lebanon and charged with supplying explosives and training to the alleged underground. His real crime, like all the others, was associating with the Jews of Hebron. He was incarcerated for two months in a vermin-filled cell; when his parents visited him for the first time after his arrest, they were utterly horrified to see that his face was severely rat-bitten.

Other arrests were nearly as scandalous.

One example: Blumenthal [Reserve Brigadier General Yisrael Blumental of the I.D.F.'s Hebron Brigade] gave Uri Baruch blueprints for making a rifle silencer and Baruch was arrested the next day for planning to construct silencers for the "Underground". The only proof was Blumenthal's planted evidence.

Eventually all charges were dropped against Edri and Baruch as they were for another 13 "conspirators". The only members of the phony "Underground" who stood trial were two brothers, Yehoyada and Eitan Kahalani. On June 18, 1995, I met with the attorney who represented their appeal; he was kind enough to supply me with secret and guarded internal documents of the Police and Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] on condition that he be referred to as "The Attorney" and not by name.

The Attorney explains:

"In February, 1996, the Kahalani Brothers were sentenced to 12 years each in prison. This came as a complete shock to almost everyone in the legal field. I decided to try and cheer the boys up by offering to prepare an appeal pro bono. I became dismayed when it was rejected and drew some conclusions.

The first is that the case was directly connected to the Rabin assassination. The same people in charge of Avishai Raviv and the frame-up of Yigal Amir, also framed the Kahalani Brothers. Yves Tibi took his orders from Eli Barak, head of the Jewish Department of the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services]. And [Hezi] Kalo and [Carmi] Gillon were Barak's superiors".

What The Attorney did not mention was that Defense Minister General Yitzhak Rabin was the ultimate superior officer of the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] and must have been all too aware of the operation which led to the imprisonment of the Kahalani Brothers.

The story of one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in Israeli history begins with an egg smuggling scam. Because of corrupt marketing of produce in Israel, food products -- including eggs -- are very overpriced. [Shabak G.S.S./General Security Services agent, Yves] Tibi, who lived in the Hebron suburb of Kiryat Arba, went into business with the Kahalani Brothers smuggling eggs -- buying them from West Bank Arab producers, at a fraction of the cost of Israeli eggs, and smuggling them into Israel proper.

On September 2, 1994, the Brothers went scouting routes out of the West Bank in preparation for their new business. For that reason they were driving through obscure West Bank villages -- proof, contended the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services], that they were actually planning a massacre in one of them.

On their way back to Kiryat Arba, their truck mysteriously broke down and could not climb the hill into Jerusalem. The Brothers called Tibi, explained their dilemma, and asked to borrow his car. He agreed and everyone met in Jerusalem at 2:00 p.m. The Kahalani Brothers drove away in Tibi's car and at 2:13 passed through the nearby Arab village within Jerusalem called Batir.

At 2:15 p.m., they were stopped by a Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] jeep waiting in ambush. They were forced out of the car at gunpoint and the vehicle was searched. Two M-16 automatic rifles were found tightly wrapped in a blanket. A police squad car arrived shortly after and the brothers were arrested.

They were held in a Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] lockup without charge and without the right to see a lawyer for a week and a half. Ten days later, on September 12, 1994, they were finally charged with the attempted murder of an Arab named Ziad Shami who complained to the police that while riding a bicycle to work, the Brothers had attempted to shoot him, but the rifle misfired. The Shabak had searched for him [Shami] in Batir to "see if he was hurt or not".

A week later, Shami's cousin also complained to the police that "settlers had tried to shoot me". It was not until September 15, 1994, that the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] explained that it had rigged the Brothers' rifles to prevent them from shooting in order to catch the attempted murderers red-handed. If this sounds like an early rehearsal for the Rabin assassination, it probably was.

The literature of political assassinations has its rehearsal precedents. President Ford was shot at first by Squeaky Fromme for ecological reasons and within days by Sarah Moore on a similar pretext. John Lennon was murdered a month before the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan in 1982. Lennon's murderer, Mark David Chapman, explained that he was Holden Caulfield of Catcher in the Rye and the public accepted this unbelievable excuse for Lennon's murder. The dry run successful, Reagan's attempted assassin claimed he was trying to impress actress Jodie Foster and the public bought it, as expected.

Rabin's assassins were trying out sting operations to see if patsies could be charged without cause and imprisoned without a major public outcry. With the help of the Police and Courts, the system worked. Most of the Israeli public were gullible and apathetic enough to ignore the sting and all its implications for their civil rights.

I asked The Attorney if the plot did not backfire in the case of the rat-bitten Lieutenant Edri.

"Was anyone in the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] charged with the wrongful arrest of Edri?" he asked in return. "They got away with it and learned that the Israeli public would not protest even the atrocities an innocent soldier was subjected to. The Shabak was confident it could get away with any sting".

And with good reason, if they managed to get the Kahalani Brothers imprisoned against all the rules of jurisprudence. The Attorney showed me some sensitive documents. The first was from the Police ballistics expert Bernard Shechter, who examined the alleged rifles and ammunition of the Kahalani Brothers just as, a year later, he would examine the weapons and ammunition of the Amir brothers.

The date on Shechter's report is September 1, 1994, one day before the rifles were found in Tibi's car while driven by the Brothers. Shechter reports that he fired the rifles and they were in good working order. Allow me to stress the obvious. The incriminating M-16s were in the hands of the police on September 1; how did the Kahalani Brothers get them the very next day? There can be little doubt: The answer is, the rifles were planted.

Next, The Attorney showed me a memo dated September, 2, 1994, marked "secret", from the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] to the Police. The Police wanted the rifles turned over to them immediately for examination. The Shabak refused, citing unnamed "security" considerations.

The Attorney next showed me a report from Bernard Shechter, dated September 29, 1994. Finally, after 27 days, the Police tested the weapons and found them to be defective. Needless to say, just like the case of Yigal Amir's alleged bullets which were unaccounted for before the Police tested them, the chain of evidence regarding the Kahalani Brothers' rifles was completely broken.

But that did not bother the judges. Again, as was the case during Yigal Amir's trial, The Attorney explains, "The Court said it was not interested in who gave the Brothers the weapons, just who pulled the trigger".

There was another problem with the State's case -- initially there were no fingerprints on the rifles. The Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] explained that was because the Brothers wiped them clean. Thus, the Shabak had the Kahalani Brothers attempting to shoot an Arab, wiping the weapons clean of fingerprints and then tightly wrapping them in a blanket before being apprehended less than two minutes later.

The scenario did not stand the test of probability, so the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] came up with a new version. Yes, there actually were fingerprints on the weapon -- but not of the Kahalani Brothers. Somehow they had wiped out their prints and left other people's intact. The Police would get to the bottom of this: They tested all the prints of the arrested "Underground" members.

The Attorney showed me the police document. All "Underground" "members'" prints were examined except those of the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] snitch who most likely placed the rifles in his own car, Yves Tibi.

Shocking? It is just the veritable tip of the iceberg. Here are some of the inconsistencies listed by The Attorney in his appeal to the court:

1. Why did the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] have to go looking for a victim? No one complained against the Brothers until ten days later when the Shabak went looking for a complainant, "To make certain he was not hurt". Why, asked The Attorney, "should the Shabak think he was hurt if they rigged the rifles so they would not fire?" The first thing the Shabak officers claimed they told Shami was, "Do not worry. We are here to protect you from the settlers".

2. Shami had been previously arrested by the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] on numerous occasions for violent activity and had been imprisoned by them twice. They were well known to each other. Shami would have needed little convincing to give false testimony if he thought he was helping to put away "settlers". Shami claimed first that one of the Brothers pulled the trigger of the rifle, he heard a "tik" sound and saw the cartridge fall to the ground.

The story was patently absurd since a cartridge minus the bullet will not be expelled, if the trigger is pulled, without firing, so he changed his story. In his second statement to the Police, Shami claimed one Brother fired from a bending position behind the car and he could not hear the "tik" and did not see a bullet fall.

3. In his first police statement, Shami said he could identify the Brothers. In his second, he was tripped up by the interrogator who asked which one [of the Brothers] wore the glasses. After he answered, Shami was told that neither wore glasses. He then admitted that he could not identify the suspects.

Neither could the two Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] agents who awaited them at the ambush. So, the Police decided to sidestep the problem by not putting the Brothers in a lineup. In Court, the Police investigator explained that arranging a lineup was "logistically difficult". As was the simple task of interrogating the subjects. The Police actually disagreed in court about which officer interrogated which Brother.

4. When asked why it took ten days to make a police complaint against his attempted murder, Shami told the court, "I took it as an everyday incident". Now, even in the politically charged atmosphere of Israel, being shot at point blank is not an everyday incident. So, someone decided to beef up Shami's case by bringing in an employer of his who testified that the next day, Shami had told him what happened. But the defense had produced Shami's work card which proved he had gone to work on the 2nd, just after the alleged murder attempt. Why did he not tell his employer about the incident that day? The employer then changed his story. Now Shami did tell him the same day.

5. Why did Shami's cousin complain to the Police on September 9 that two "settlers" pulled a gun on him? The Kahalani Brothers were already locked up, so it was not them who did it. Was the little village of Batir targeted by "settlers" who
were "terrorizing" the citizenry with failed "murder" attempts? Did the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] or Police follow up on the complaint or was it a simple, perverse attempt by a family member to save Shami from perjury charges?

6. Shami reported that he had left his bicycle on the spot and run away. The two Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] ambushers reported that the bicycle was gone and that Shami must have rode off on it. To explain away this problem, Shami insisted that as he was running away, he flagged down a Peugeot van driven by a friend, returned to the crime scene and picked up his bicycle. The Shabak ambushers had to have seen the Peugeot van if it existed. And Shami could not name the friend who drove the van, so he again altered his story to the Police. This time the Peugeot was driven by a stranger.

7. Shami insisted that one of his assailants held a rifle to him. The Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] ambushers admitted they never saw anyone actually holding a rifle.

8. The policemen in the squad car accompanying the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] jeep at the ambush somehow did not witness the arrest of the Brothers. The squad car followed the jeep but the view was hampered by the "dust kicked up by the jeep". By the time the dust settled, the policemen saw the brothers held on the ground at gunpoint, the rifles in the blanket beside them. The dust, then, took at least two minutes to settle.

9. Shami told the Police that the first thing the Kahalani Brothers asked him was, "What's the time?" When asked in Court the first thing they [the Brothers] asked, he [Shamsi] replied, [they asked] "Do you have any money?"

10. Police Warrant Officer Zeiger testified that a bullet clip was pulled out of the Brothers' backpack at the time of the arrest. Unfortunately for Zeiger, no fingerprints of the Brothers were found on the clip. Further, the Police log of
September 2, 1994, reports that the clip was found in the defendants' home. In short, officer Zeiger was caught lying. But then, who wasn't?

The verdict of this case was to be read on November 6, 1995, but it was delayed until November 15 because of the murder of Rabin on November 4. On November 15, the Court found the Kahalani Brothers guilty of attempted murder.

"That verdict", says The Attorney, "was directly related to the assassination. If the Kahalani Brothers sting operation did not result in a conviction, people might have started asking questions about Yigal Amir. I asked associates in the Shabak [G.S.S./General Security Services] how the Brothers could have been convicted in the face of such an abundance of obviously doctored evidence. They told me there was just one possible answer: At the highest levels of the Shabak, there was a policy to delegitimize the settlers in order to justify their forced removal at some stage of the 'peace' process".

The opponents of the secret and deceitful "peace" process were thus to be turned into savage murderers. And if they were not so in reality, then murderers would have to be manufactured. It did not matter how much injustice it took, so long as the opponents of the "peace" process were viewed as barbarians by as much of the voting public as possible.

With this strategy in mind, Rabin was supposedly assassinated by a right-wing, Sephardic Jew who sympathized with the "settler" movement. The day after [Rabin's assassination on November 4, 1995], the roundup of hundreds of Jewish opponents of "peace" began and barely anyone complained. Within several weeks, the Israeli army pulled out of six West Bank regions without so much as one protest sign blocking the way.

In February, 1996, the Kahalani Brothers were supposed to appear for sentencing. Only one, Eitan, arrived. Yehodaya was not capable of hearing his twelve-year sentence.

A few weeks earlier, Yehodaya was transferred to another cell block. He was talking to his mother on the phone when an iron pipe smashed down on his skull, crushing it. He went into a deep coma from which it appeared, at first, he might never escape.

Yehodaya's last words to his mother were, "They put me in here with murderers".
