British MEP to be kicked out political group for Nazi law comment
31.01.2008 - 17:32 CET | By Honor Mahony
British Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan has been criticised by his colleagues for comparing the actions of the president of the European Parliament to reduce disruptions in the EU assembly to a law under Nazi Germany.

"It is only my affection for you ... that prevents me from likening this to the Ermaechtigungsgesetz," said the Conservative MEP referring to the 1933 law that gave Hitler extra powers.

Mr Hannan's words came just before parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering, a German, was to introduce measures to curb the filibustering tactics of a group of eurosceptic British MEPs...

The One Big Thing that Bush Lacks, but it's not Courage

The One Big Thing that Bush Lacks, but it's not Courage
by Rob Hood
As President Bush gave his final State of the Union address, I remembered all of the times that I had stood with our president despite violent liberal outrages and falsehoods during the Bush years. I have stood unashamed and proud of our president who has dared to look Islamofacism in the eye and stare it into oblivion through spreading the promise of hope and freedom to those ruled by evil tyrants like Saddam Hussein and the Taliban. I have stood proud with our president through all of his own trials and tribulations (some created by ultra-left wing news media)and have expressed my support and prayers for the president and his courageous decisions to overpower and conquer evil by all means.
I have been a proud conservative Republican for a while and have basically stood with the party even when some of the leaders of that party have committed wrongdoings and lurched toward the left on fundamental and vital issues like immigration and counter terrorism. After all, we are all human and all make mistakes. President Bush is to be commended for taking a righteous stand against the mass slaughter and genocide of innocents through abortion. He is to be rewarded for taking a stand against one of the most corrupt, sneaky, and evil men in history - Saddam Hussein. The only difference in Hussein and Hitler was that Hussein didn't have the manpower to complete his Hitler like annihilation of Israel. However, that didn't keep him from trying. He was a sole perpetrator in funding terrorists inside of Israel to blow up buses and other objects. In returnhe would provide monetary funds and also give terrorists a sanctuary to escape to when the heat was on from those who wished to extinguish their burning fires of hatred.
I was cautious about going into Iraq at first. The battle has been long, but the outcome will be worth the fight in the end. A world without Saddam Hussein is indeed a better world. A world in which terrorists are fearful of their lives and are running away from offensive forces who dare not show mercy on those who commit evil is a much safer world. A world where terrorists are afraid to show their faces (the cowards all wear masks) in fear of being killed on sight is definitely better than a world where terrorists rule and the people are afraid.
I thought that the President's speech was good, but one thing that this president is wrong on is the Israeli conflict. Recently President Bush went to Israel to promote peace between Israel and the surrounding area called Palestine (formerly known as Canaan). President Bush should look to history and recognize that "land for peace" does not equal peace, because the more land Palestinians get, the more they want. President Bush is a good man and should be commended for his efforts in fighting abortionists, terrorists, and the like, but he should read his Bible. The land of Israel always has and always will belong to God's chosen people and because of what happened in the book of Genesis three thousand years ago, there will never be peace between the half brothers -Israel and Palestine. The land rightfully belongs to Israel as a promised gift from God to Abraham and his descendants (later led to Christ through King David's bloodline). God promised the land to Abraham and to his people, but the people sinned so much that all through the Old Testament the land was taken from them and given back many times.
Now, in these final days before Christ returns, Israel has been re-established as God's people once again and today's politicians in Washington need to look outside of their own financial and political interests and recognize that they are dealing with the most powerful nation in existence - Israel. God allowed America to be formed and has blessed us so far, but remember that God promises to bless those who bless His people and curse those who curse His people as well. America is powerful and rich, but with one swipe God could banish us into servants and slaves if we dare curse His own chosen people. Politicians should be careful who they mess around with because some nations, like Israel have the Almighty creator of everything in existence on their side.
I do agree that peace is great if peace can be achieved, but peace on earth will never be achieved as long as sin is in the world. One day Christ will return as king of kings and Lord of Lords upon the Mount of Olives and will walk down into Jerusalem to rule over creation. Israel has been, is, and always will be God's chosen people and Washington politicians should recognize that fact and accept it because it's not ever going to change.
I do wish President Bush well in his final months in office and perhaps we can drive a few more liberals crazy by enacting common sense anti-socialist measures into action. Bush, in my opinion, has been a good leader and a good president. Of course no one is perfect and he has made some mistakes as we all do, but I believe that no matter what the liberals in the mainstream news press rooms say, Bush's legacy 100 years from now will be a great one and that he will be remembered as a noble man who did the right thing against overwhelming odds.
God Bless America!

It seems evident that the resurrected Noah will head a vast project of the relocation of the races and nations, within the boundaries God has set, for their own best good, happiness and richest blessings. This will be a tremendous operation. It will require great and vast organization, reinforced with power to move whole nations and races. This time, peoples and nations will move where God has planned for them, and no defiance will be tolerated.

German Connections

Newsletter 2008/01/25 - Cultivating Relationships
BERLIN/FLENSBURG (Own report) - The German government is establishing an Internet portal to connect German-speaking minorities in Europe and Asia, thereby expanding the political manipulation of population segments of foreign countries. "Members of ethnic German minorities of one country" could more easily than ever "be linked up to German minorities of other nations" and can "cultivate intensive relations to interested parties in Germany," explained Christoph Bergner, the German government's Commissioner for Repatriation Issues and National Minorities in Germany. The German government has already initiated a special support for the German "Volksgruppen", conceived of as communities of blood-ancestry and is using them as "bridgeheads" within their respective nations, e.g. Poland, Denmark and Kazakhstan. The new internet portal is being initiated by an association that was founded in the 1950s by "Volksgruppen" experts of the 1930s. Since its inception, the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), with headquarters in Flensburg, (Schleswig-Holstein) has been confederating the ethnic minorities from all over Europe under German leadership.
The association pursues the prototype set by a predecessor organization in the period of the Weimar Republic. The chair of the association's advisory committee is an undersecretary in the Ministry of the Interior.

Arab propaganda wrong about Israel

Arab propaganda wrong about Israel
It is not uncommon for pro-Arab propaganda to accuse Israel of engaging in "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians.
The only deliberate ethnic cleansing known to the undersigned is the eviction in 2005 of 10,000 Israeli Jews from their homes and communities in Gush Katif, Gaza.
There is a looming threat of further expulsion of 240,000 Israeli Jews from Judea and Samaria (the West Bank).
This is the declared goal of the Palestinian Authority under the "moderate" Mahmoud Abbas.
The perverse idea here is the creation of yet another Arab state, the 23rd in number, completely cleansed of Jews, while the state of Israel continues to be the democratic host to 1.2 million Arabs.
Israel was designated a Jewish state by the League of Nations and the United Nations. There are 22 Arab countries, one of which, Jordan, is 78 percent Palestinian.
Therefore the question before the world's jury should be: Do the Palestinians deserve a second state in addition to Jordan?
UN Resolution 194 (clause 11) proposes, among other solutions, the resettlement of Palestinian refugees outside Israel and the payment of compensation.
Clearly, the natural venue for them is Jordan.
Arabs' incessant anti-Israel propaganda has managed to implant tremendous confusion in people's minds.
There is a difference between civil rights to privately owned property and political rights to a sovereign state. Nobody is denying West Bank Arabs ownership of their titled private lands.
There is only one Jewish state. Its survival depends entirely on viable and defensible borders. Those who propose the creation of yet another Arab state in Judea and Samaria, thus rendering Israel nine miles wide, clearly have a single goal in mind: the demise of Israel.
These are the real ethnic cleansers.

Germany's Collaboration with KLA

The trial against a close collaborator of Joachim Ruecker, the German UN administrator in Kosovo, is drawing to a close with the concluding declarations before the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague due to begin this week. The International War Crimes Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia had charged the former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj with ordering - and even participating himself in - torture and numerous murders of Serbs, Roma and Kosovo Albanians in 1998, a year prior to NATO's aggression against Yugoslavia. While being a commander of the KLA, Haradinaj, according to intelligence circles, was also the leader of a powerful Mafia organization. He enjoys close ties to the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) including its current Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Joachim Ruecker. In a discussion with german-foreign-policy.com, the journalist Boris Kanzleiter explained that high ranking UN officials helped intimidate witnesses due to testify in The Hague against Haradinaj. The structures of organized crime in Kosovo, in which Haradinaj is said to play an important role, extend all the way to Germany. It is being reported that German government authorities prevented investigations of Kosovo Albanians residing in Germany...

EU renewable energy targets to cost family of four in UK up to £730 a year

Open Europe's findings that the EU's plans for renewable targets would cost the average family of four in the UK up to £730 a year are reported in the Mail, Telegraph, Sun, Express and Evening Standard. The Express reported on Open Europe's estimate that EU biofuel targets would push 60 million people in the developing world into food insecurity and increase family food bills in the UK by £50 - £65 a year. Open Europe's Hugo Robinson was quoted in the Telegraph arguing against binding targets for renewables and biofuels: "Everyone agrees that we need big cuts in our emissions. But this is not the most cost effective way to do it. The European Commission's proposal would lead to unnecessarily high costs, particularly for poor pensioners. Biofuels targets have got almost nothing to do with helping the environment, and a lot to do with bolstering the CAP. Targets for biofuels should be dropped immediately."

A leader in the FT takes a similar line, backing EU targets for absolute emissions reductions, but arguing that it is wrong to favour renewables over more cost effective means of carbon reduction: "Most damagingly, the privileged status of renewables takes the focus away from energy efficiency, by far the lowest-cost means of reducing emissions... the framework should be technology blind. Brussels should not be in the business of picking winners." The Times agrees, arguing that "Renewables have their place in any energy policy, and it must grow fast, but it should be for member states to decide how fast. Instead, over-investment in unproven or inappropriate technologies is now a racing certainty, as is a wholly ill-advised biofuels bonanza. As the Commission's own advisers have noted, biofuels drive up the price of food, guarantee no net carbon reduction and carry the risk of significant carbon increase if grown at the expense of grassland or forest." The Guardian argues that "bits of the plan are disappointing. Why does the EU insist on wasteful biofuels being used for road transport? It is hard to see it as anything other than yet another sop to European farmers."

The EU's 10% biofuel target has been heavily criticised by various NGOs, quoted on EUobserver. "Most biofuels now appear to be worse for the climate than oil," said Friends of the Earth Europe's Sonja Meister. "The sustainability criteria proposed by the European Commission... can't deal with macro-level impacts such as displacement and increased food prices," said Stella Semino of Argentina's Grupo de Reflexión Rural. "The European Commission's failure to act on the many warnings is shockingly irresponsible," said Corporate Europe Observatory spokesperson Nina Holland.

Belgian steelworkers strike against EU climate change plans

The IHT reports that for the first time in Europe thousands of steel workers at ArcelorMittal factories in Belgium walked off the job this week in protest against EU policies to combat climate change. "You could call this the first carbon dioxide industrial action," said Fabrice Jacquemart, a spokesman for the FGTB union. "There is something utterly absurd about a policy that creates more unemployment in Europe."

The Independent reports that the Drax power station in the UK expects to have to drop power output dramatically, and will eventually be taken over by a large integrated power company.

The BBC notes that the UK is planning 'to ignore' suggestions from the EU Commission that revenues from auctioning of permits under the EU Emissions Trading Scheme should be ring-fenced for investment in low carbon generation - proceeds would instead go into the general Treasury budget.

Lawyers and officials warn of trade war over green tariffs

The FT reports that plans being floated by the US Senate and the European Commission to force importers to pay the same greenhouse gas emission charges as domestic producers could provoke a trade war of retaliation and litigation, officials and lawyers have warned. The plans are intended to prevent production shifting to laxer regimes abroad after countries impose carbon controls. But although supporters argue they will comply with the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (Gatt), the treaty that underlies the World Trade Organisation, officials and lawyers say that affected countries such as China and India are likely to resort to litigation or retaliation. Ujal Singh Bhatia, India's ambassador to the WTO, said: "If the countries imposing such measures invoke Gatt provisions to justify them, the dispute settlement mechanism in [the] WTO would face serious challenges and create divisions along North-South lines." An analysis piece argues, "The new debate over carbon border taxes adds new tension to a trade system already struggling with faltering negotiations in the so-called 'Doha round' of trade talks and the outbreak of protectionist rhetoric across the US and Europe."

VAT ruling to cost Treasury £1 billion after Government found to be in breach of EU law

According to PA, the Treasury is facing a flood of claims by UK businesses seeking to recover up to £1 billion in overpaid VAT after the Court of Appeal ruled that the Government's introduction of a time limit imposed on business making claims for overpaid tax in 1997 was unlawful under EU law. The House of Lords upheld the appeal judges' ruling that the law was in breach of EU law principles of "effectiveness and legal certainty" and must therefore be disapplied. "To be compatible with EU law, taxpayers were entitled to be told in advance of transitional arrangements that would enable them to submit late accrued claims for the deduction of input tax despite the introduction of the time limit," said Lord Hope.

Dollar's Fate Sealed

This was published in The Blade newspaper and was read the following Sabbath to the entire congregation of the Worldwide Church of God in Toledo, Ohio by Pastor George Kackos, after introducing me as the newest baptized member.

The Blade Reader's Forum
Monday, June 18, 1979

To the Editor of The Blade:
Our dollar is doomed. Its fate is certain to be sealed soon when the European Economic Community, united by the fear of Communist aggression, allows its dream of the European Currency Unit to take full effect.
That will startle the slumbering world, awakening it out of its false euphoria that Europe must depend on the United States for military protection and for the stability of a forever fluctuating, sick dollar that has served its purpose and is "over the hill."
The trauma of the decline of the Deutsche Mark in value was a festering sore that prepared the way for Adolf Hitler. So it is today with inflation, the dollar's lack of value, and the Communist threat.
The idea of a united Europe that will exercise unimaginable power ought to be feared as a Frankenstein monster. As with the false hope that Hitler's dream generated which ended tragically in the nightmare of death and destruction, so also shall this imminent "empire" be ushered in with praise. But in the end all shall count it as a curse.
DAVID A. HOOVER*
Holland, Ohio
***********
After reading this, my Grandmother Vivian Hoover wondered where I got my information from, since she had never heard of the ECU (European Currency Unit). I told her The Plain Truth magazine wrote about it. She replied something like, "Well, some of us still work for the dollar." What would she think today?

*My former name was David Allen Hoover, which was legally changed to David Ben-Ariel in 1989, as mentioned within God-Given Names.

"I will say, then, that I AM NOT NOR HAVE EVER BEEN in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the black and white races---that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with White people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the White and black races which will ever FORBID the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the White race."

"See our present condition---the country engaged in war! Our White men cutting one another's throats! And then consider what we know to be the truth. But for your race among us there could not be war, although many men engaged on either side do not care for you one way or another.

"Why should the people of your race be colonized, and where? Why should they leave this country? This is, perhaps, the first question for proper consideration. You and we are different races. We have between us a broader difference than exists between almost any other two races. Whether it is right or wrong I need not discuss, but this physical difference is a great disadvantage to us both, as I think your race suffer very greatly, many of them by living among us, while ours suffer from your presence. In a word, we suffer on each side. If this be admitted, it affords a reason at least why we should be separated. It is better for both, therefore, to be separated."

January 6, 1964, was a long day for Martin Luther King Jr. He spent the morning seated in the reserved section of the Supreme Court, listening as lawyers argued New York Times Co. v. Sullivan, a landmark case rising out of King's crusade against segregation in Alabama. The minister was something of an honored guest: Justice Arthur Goldberg quietly sent down a copy of Kings account of the Montgomery bus boycott, "Stride Toward Freedom," asking for an autograph. That night King retired to his room at the Willard Hotel. There FBI bugs reportedly picked up 14 hours of party chatter, the clinking of glasses and the sounds of illicit sex--including King's cries of "I'm f--ing for God" and "I'm not a Negro tonight!"

Note: What is not mentioned in this article is that Martin Luther King was having sex with three White women, one of whom he brutally beat while screaming the above mentioned quotes. Much of the public information on King's use of church money to hire prostitutes and his beating them came from King's close personal friend, Rev. Ralph Abernathy (pictured above), in his 1989 book, "And the walls came tumbling down."

Time Heals All Wounds

My friend Steve died when I was in Israel in 1995 (from his drinking) and when I was unjustly deported I ended up returning to Toledo and lived with his mother, Doris, my "adopted" mother, in her big house in the city since her other son is in prison (whose birthday is today and mine was last week - same age) and her West Virginia family was concerned about her living here alone and it helped us both out (helping her with her rental properties and painting and mowing, driving - since she had scleroderma - etc.)... Doris died this past Dec. 24th within an hour after her sister (up from WV) and I got her home from a week's stay in the hospital (!) and I found she had saved this postcard I sent her when Steve died (he died in June, a few days after his 32nd birthday)...

UNION Of US and Europe?

UNION Of US and Europe?

Start of a beautiful friendship?

A union of Europe and America might stand up to China, but how realistic is it, asks Phillip Blond

For the first time in several hundred years the West is on the losing side of history. This is the thesis of Edouard Balladur, the former French Prime Minister who in a recent essay argues that "history is starting to be made without the West and perhaps one day it will be made against it".

The 78-year-old statesman believes that Western values are so threatened that the only way to defend global democracy and the rule of law is for the US and the EU to consider a real political, economic and cultural union.

Like many he fears that the West is in cultural decline and unable to face the challenges that confront it. America and Europe, economically stagnant and unable to innovate and prosper in the face of Chinese and Indian economic success, face new shared dangers in Islamic fundamentalism, and the rise of hostile independent states such as Iran and Russia.

For Balladur, the West must undergo a revolution in thinking and come together and defend its common values in the face of unprecedented global threats.

This is more than the delightful delusions of an aloof French aristocrat. These ideas are taken seriously at the highest level. Nicolas Sarkozy is certainly listening: the current President of France, a close confidante and political ally of Balladur, is intrigued by the prospect of a renewed Western project with France at its centre.

Moreover, the British elite have long been seduced by the idea of a transatlantic free-trade pact. While Angela Merkel, the German PM, wants to extend the traditional trans-Atlantic military alliance into new cultural and economic agreements based around common values and beliefs.

Looking at it objectively, Balladur expresses unmistakable geo-political truths. The age of Western dominance is clearly over. America may still be a superpower but within a generation it will be equalled by other nations both economically and militarily. Similarly Europe may delight in its own expansion, but national governments and shallow self-interest still call the tune. As such, Europe's soft power is never really taken seriously by its adversaries: Russia, for instance, derides the EU and sidelines it diplomatically and economically.

Thus the reasoning goes that Europe needs the hard power of American military might. Moreover, America now recognises its limits; it knows it can no longer risk unilateral military action. The US needs the soft power of persuasion and the many friends that the EU represents.

And there I think this little daydream should end. There is no real chance of a Western Union because an alliance implies an equality of partners. The Europeans may well be prepared to pool sovereignty in the name of common values - but the Americans certainly aren't.

America, despite its vision and idealism, remains a deeply nationalist and supremacist nation - and such countries do not and cannot form a union of equals. The only real alliance the US has is with Britain and Israel. Because the former is painfully subservient and the latter utterly dependent, neither offers a model for a common Western future.

That said, there is a real common Western heritage that is worth defending - one that upholds the idea of the dignity of the person and the belief that power and wealth are not the ultimate values. This is the legacy of Plato and Aristotle, the Jewish prophets, Christianity and the Renaissance. It lies also in the enlightenment's refusal of absolute authority and the struggle by ordinary people to shape their lives and gain a just share of wealth and happiness.

However, these great Western achievements were attained by a high civilisation - whereas Europe and America are now at a cultural low, obsessed with consumerism and celebrity.

If Sarkozy (left) can help revive a high European culture, and a new American President can restore a genuinely liberating American vision, then there might, just might, be a union of the West worth pursuing after all.

Hitler's Germany wanted collaboration with the Anglo-Saxons and was rightly rebuffed; Franz Josef Strauss promoted his "grand design" for the US and Europe, and died without seeing it realized; Otto von Habsburg invokes Charlemagne (Karl der Grosse) as the only hope for Europe's future within The Social Order of Tomorrow and it is echoed by the Vatican who has never lost the dream of reviving the "Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation." Such a politico-religious dream will soon become the world's worst nightmare, turning on those who oppose its German-Jesuit dominated EU with a vengeance, promoting itself as the only hope for world peace while preparing to ignite WWIII.
