Now if you apply those words to the wanton destruction of the Jewish communities of Gush Katif and Shomron, whole communities who committed no crime, we can see that Israel is on the edge of the abyss and the fascist EU will push it over and occupy Jerusalem and let their Roman wolves in sheep's clothing ("peacekeepers") pollute the Holy Land.

A1. No nation has been more profoundly influenced by the Tanach (Hebrew Bible/"Old" "Testament") than America. Many of America's early statesmen and educators were schooled in Hebraic civilization. The second President of the United States, John Adams, [one of my ancestors - DBA] a Harvard graduate, had this to say of the Jewish People:
"The Jews have done more to civilize men than any other nation....They are the most glorious Nation that ever inhabited the earth. The Romans and their Empire were but a bauble in comparison to the Jews. They have given religion to three-quarters of the Globe and have influenced the affairs of Mankind more, and more happily than any other Nation, ancient or modern".
A2. The curriculum at Harvard, like those of other early American colleges and universities, was designed by learned men of "Old Testament" persuasion. Harvard President Mather (1685-1701) was an ardent Hebraist (as were his predecessors). His writings contain numerous quotations from the Talmud as well as from the works of Sa'adia Gaon, Rashi, Maimonides and other classic Jewish commentators.
A3. Yale University President Ezra Stiles discoursed with visiting rabbis on the Mishna and Talmud. At his first public commencement at Yale (1781), Stiles delivered an oration on Hebrew literature written in Hebrew. Hebrew and the study of Hebraic laws and institutions were an integral part of Yale's as well as of Harvard's curriculum.
A4. Much the same may be said of King's College (later Columbia University), William and Mary, Rutgers, Princeton, Dartmouth, and Brown University. Hebrew learning was then deemed a basic element of liberal education. Samuel Johnson, first president of King's College (1754-1763), expressed the intellectual attitude of his age when he referred to Hebrew as "essential to a gentleman's education".
A5. This attitude was not merely academic. A year before the American Revolution, Harvard President Samuel Langdon, declared:
"The civil polity of Israel is doubtless an excellent general model (of government)".
A6. The Higher Law doctrine of the American Declaration of Independence is rooted in the Torah, which proclaims "The Laws of Nature and Nature's God", and appeals to the "Supreme Judge" and "Providence" -- terms lacking in Israel's Declaration of Independence.
A7. During the colonial and constitution-making period, Americans, especially the Puritans, adopted and adapted various Hebraic laws for their own governance. The legislation of New Haven, for example, was based on the premise that "the judicial laws of God, as they were delivered by Moses, and as they are not ceremonial, shall generally bind all offenders..." Thirty-eight of the seventy-nine statutes in the New Haven Code of 1665 derived their authority from the Hebrew Bible. The laws of Massachusetts were based on the same foundation.
A8. The fifteen Capital Laws of New England included the "Seven Noahide Laws" of the Torah, or what may be termed the seven universal laws of morality.
A9. Now, without minimizing the influence of such philosophers as Locke and Montesquieu on the framers of the American Constitution, America may rightly be deemed the first and only nation that was explicitly founded on the Seven Noahide Laws of the Torah. It should also be noted that the constitutions of eleven of the original thirteen states made provision for religious education. Some even had religious qualifications for office.
B. Institutions Prescribed by the American Constitution
B1. House of Representatives
The House of Representatives represents 435 districts of the United States, where the people of each district elect one person to represent their views and interests. The idea of district elections is implicit in the Torah. We read in Devarim/Deuteronomy 1:13: "Select for yourselves men who are wise, understanding, and known to your tribes and I will appoint them as your leaders".
a. Shemot/Exodus 18:19 states: "seek out from among all the people men with leadership ability, God-fearing men -- men of truth who hate injustice". Similar qualifications are prescribed in the original constitutions of Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
b. Each Tribe of Israel was to select the best men to be their representatives. Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch comments that "each tribe (shevet) is to choose out of its own midst men whose character can only be known by their lives [hence whose character] is known only to those who have associated with them". This is the biblical source of residential requirements for Representatives and Senators in the United States. Also, what is here called a tribe was called a district (pelech) after the Second Temple.
c. Finally, it is a principle of Jewish Law that "No legislation should be imposed on the public unless the majority can conform to it" [Babylonian Talmud/Tractate Avoda Zara 36a]. This requires legislators to consider or consult the opinions of their constituents. Hence representative democracy can be assimilated to Judaism by adding that representatives must be "men who are wise and haters of bribes". This would make for an aristocratic democracy, or a universal aristocracy -— a kingdom of priests, of noblemen.
B2. Senate
The Senate represents the 50 states of the Federal Union; it therefore represents the Federal principle. But the idea of federalism goes back to the Torah and the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Each tribe had its own distinct identity, its own governor and its own judicial system.
B3. Presidency
Unlike Israel, which has a Plural Executive or Cabinet consisting of a prime minister and other ministers representing different political parties in the Knesset, the United States has a Unitary Executive, namely, the President. Of course the President has a Cabinet, but its members cannot hold any other office and they are wholly responsible to the President, not to any political party.
a. Now it so happens that a Unitary Executive is a Torah principle! Thus, when Moses told Joshua to consult the elders when he was about to lead the Jews across the Jordan, G-d countermanded Moses: There can only be one leader in a generation. When we look at Tractate Sanhedrin 8a, we see that Jewish Law opposes collective leadership. Nor is this all.
b. Just as a President of the United States must be a native-born American and not a naturalized citizen, so a King of Israel must be born of a Jewish mother and not a ger or convert.
B4. Supreme Court
Just as the American Supreme Court is the final interpreter of the American Constitution, so the Great Sanhedrin is the final interpreter of the Jewish Constitution, the Torah. So we see that the original American Constitution was very much rooted in Torah Judaism.
C. Comparison with Israel's political and judicial institutions
C1. Knesset
Members of Knesset (M.K.s) are not individually elected by the voters in constituency elections —- hence there is no accountability. In fact, M.K.s can ignore public opinion with impunity, as 23 Likud M.K.s did when they voted for Disengagement, contrary to their pledge to the nation in the January 2003 election.
C2. Government
The cabinet is collection of rival party leaders competing for a larger slice of the national budget. This undermines national unity and national purpose. The average government last less than two years, which makes it impossible to pursue a consistent and long-range national strategy.
C3. Supreme Court
The Court is a self-appointed oligarchy. It refuses to enforce the Foundations of Law Act 1980 which would make Jewish Law first among equals. Israel Supreme Court Chief Justice Aaron Barak writes:
"It should never be said that a particular legal system has the primary claim to interpretive inspiration".
Imagine a U.S. Supreme Court justice teaching Americans:
"It should never be said that the American legal system has the primary claim to interpretive inspiration".
Israel's Supreme Court is the only court in the world that scorns the legal heritage of its own People. It has repeatedly handed down decisions that violate the basic beliefs and values of the Jewish People.
D. Conclusion:
The political and judicial institutions of the so-called Jewish State of "modern" Israel are less Jewish than the political and judicial institutions now operating in the non-Jewish democratic world.

Vatican Hardliner Named Ambassador To US
(Vatican City) The Vatican's man in the Holy Land has been named the new papal nuncio to the United States.
Pope Benedict XVI on Monday named Archbishop Pietro Sambi the nuncio to Israel and Palestine to be the Vatican's ambassador to Washington.
Last year, Sambi was instrumental in getting World Pride celebrations scheduled for Jerusalem cancelled. Sambi helped organize a precedent setting meeting of Jewish, Islamic, and Christian leaders to condemn gay pride.
Following the meeting the clerics issued a statement calling World Pride "offensive".
Organizers of the event say they will hold World Pride in August, 2006 in Jerusalem.
Sambi, 67, is a career diplomat for the Vatican.
He replaces Archbishop Gabriel Montalvo Higuera in Washington. Montalvo is retiring at age 75.
Earlier this month, Montalvo reportedly asked Boston Archbishop Sean P. O’Malley to step in and stop allowing Catholic Charities of Boston to place adoptive children with same-sex couples.
Catholic Charities has been under fire since it became known earlier this year that a handful of children had been placed with gay and lesbian couples.
At the time it said that because it accepts money from the state it could not discriminate. /

Europe needs leadership
Yet what Europe does need, clearly, is leadership. Leadership that is capable of forging a transnational consensus and commanding respect among the electorates of member states.
This can't be other than political: the notion that somehow if we 'listen' to 'citizens' we shall miraculously find them saying the same (or at least not incompatible) things is clearly preposterous.
As is the idea, seemingly prevalent in some quarters of the Commission, that the good souls of Europe have locked away inside them some 'vision' of a European future, which politicians at the national level have missed.
For a moment in the blissful dawn of the Tony Blair's European Parliament speech it did seem as though he really might succeed in providing this necessary political leadership. Clearly that was not to be.
But without such a coherent vision, whether it comes from a member state politician or from a European Parliamentarian, the European project risks falling victim to the vacuum that is its empty centre.
It would then simply and slowly disintegrate, with smaller budgets and reduced powers, into the type of Organisation of European States advocated by the Czech President, Vaclav Havel, and others. If this is the democratic will, so be it, but Europe deserves better than for this to happen by default.
We can only hope that cometh the hour, cometh the man - or indeed woman - someone who will not only advocate reform but deliver it as well. Who indeed will succeed in drawing this sword from the stone? That is the real question for 2006.

Israel is to give the Vatican control over one of the
most sacred Christian sites in Jerusalem, several
European newspapers have reported recently. According
to the reports, Israel will give the Holy See
possession of the Coenaculum, or the Room of the Last
Supper (also known as the Upper Room or the Cenacle),
on Mount Zion.
In response to the news, I wrote an article which proved the handover of the Old City of Jerusalem was a done deal. In fact, it was one of the secret clauses of the first Oslo "peace" accord signed by the Israeli government.
A week after, I received a phone call from a rabbi of the Diaspora Yeshiva. He explained that the Tourism Minister was visiting their school the next day and he was trying to fill the study hall to prove to the government that their yeshiva was too valuable to be given away.
I replied that I would not partake in such a spectacle. I might come if the students forcibly barred the Minister or any government official from entering the property. Hadn't he learned anything from Gush Katif? The government of Israel couldn't care less about him and could care even less how many students he can pack into a room. Mount Zion was a litmus test of how much opposition the government and its corrupted army could expect when all of the Old City was turned over to the Vatican.
He said I must talk to the headmaster of the Yeshiva, Rabbi Goldstein.
An hour later, I was honored by a call from Rabbi Goldstein. Soon, however, I was in despair. As far as he knew, the Vatican wanted to turn his school into a money making tourist site and the Ministry of Tourism was being enticed by the prospects of millions of Catholic tourists visiting Israel to see the Last Supper room.
I did my best to wake the Rabbi. I told him that tourism was the facade, not the issue. I tried to explain the global forces using their muscle to get the Jews out of Jerusalem's holy sites. I noted that the government of Israel was the worst enemy of Judaism and that he must block the entrance of their representative with whatever force he could muster.
However, as with the Rabbis of Gush Katif, my words were wasted. Mount Zion will give up without a real fight. You watch.
Nonetheless, the truth marches on. A brilliant Jerusalem-based German-born historian, Dr. Asher Edar, also honored me with a conversation. Vive le difference:
BC - Why is the Vatican suddenly so interested in getting its hands on Mount Zion real estate?
AE - There's nothing sudden about it at all. In fact, the roots of the desire go back 1200 years to the time of Charlemagne. He was the Vatican's military tool for converting Europe to Roman Catholicism.
He succeed magnificently and created what is known as the Holy Roman Empire but what was then called The Holy Roman Empire Of The German Nation. Charlemagne's capital was at Aachen and there he built his first cathedral.
BC - Excuse me but, so?
AE - Next to the yeshiva on Mount Zion is the Dormition Abbey, built by the Germans starting in 1906. It is an exact duplicate of Charlemagne's Aachen Cathedral.
BC - How did that happen?
AE - Kaiser Wilhelm II came to Jerusalem in 1898 to build two churches, a modest Lutheran Church of minor religious significance and a magnificent Catholic structure on Mount Zion. In 1898, the ruler of a nation didn't make such a difficult journey to a diplomatic backwater unless it was extremely important. The Vatican was worried that the British had an operating church in Jerusalem and its presence could solidify and spread. The Vatican provided much of the funds for the trip and the bribe to the Turkish Sultan, Khamid. Since Wilhelm had a Protestant population to appease, he put up a smaller Lutheran church as well, but the real prize was Mount Zion.
BC - Why all the money and trouble if the Vatican gets the real estate? What was in it for Germany?
AE - Germany has never given up its dream of reviving the Holy Roman Empire. At the height of that empire, their greatest king, Frederick the Great, marched into Jerusalem and became the city's king. Jerusalem was once part of the Holy Roman Empire and the dream is that it will be again. In this empire, the delineation of powers was strict. The pope was the spiritual leader, but the political leader was whoever ruled Germany. This dream led straight to World War I.
BC - Where do the Jews fit in all this?
AE - Nowhere. Herzl tried to get a role for the Jews and met with Wilhelm in Jerusalem. Wilhelm would have nothing to do with him. His goal was to save Jerusalem for a Christendom led politically by Germany and spiritually by Rome. Nothing has changed except now the pope is a determined German. The Vatican want the Jews out of the Old City and apparently our government is agreeing with them.

THE TEUTONIC ORDER OF HOLY MARY IN JERUSALEM
Some forty knights were received into the new Order at its foundation by the King of Jerusalem and Frederick of Swabia, who selected their first Master in the name of the Pope and Emperor. The knights of the new confraternity had to be of German birth (although this rule was occasionally relaxed), a unique requirement among the Crusader Orders founded in the Holy Land. They were drawn predominately from the noble or knightly class, although this latter obligation was not formally incorporated into the rule until much later. Their blue mantle, charged with a black cross, was worn over a white tunic, a uniform recognized by the Patriarch of Jerusalem and confirmed by the Pope in 1211. The waves of German knights and pilgrims who followed the Third Crusade brought considerable wealth to the new German Hospital as well as recruits. This enabled the knights to acquire the Lordship of Joscelin and, soon thereafter they built the castle of Montfort (lost in 1271), the rival of the great hospitaller fortress of Krak des Chevaliers. Never as numerous in the Holy Land as either the Hospitaller or Templar Orders, the Teutonic knights were nonetheless a formidable power.

On September 21, 2005, Debkafile reported that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon had decided to leave the Likud Party and possibly retire, and had informed President Bush of his intentions. Shlomo Wollins of Israel Reporter said that he believed this story to be unsubstantiated.
At the time, there was a fight within the Likud as to when the party primaries would be. Party "rebels" wanted to move up the date and try to unhorse Sharon. Sharon wanted to delay the primaries as long he could. Sharon, generously applying pressure to party hacks afraid of losing their seats, succeeded in keeping the party primaries held off until May, 2006.
In the meantime, the Labor Party held a vote to elect its new leader. One by one, Shimon Peres -- a man of not inconsiderable influence as he once was prime minister and minister of foreign affairs -- succeeded in getting his opponents to drop out of the race. By the time the actual vote took place, only two opponents remained: A party hack named Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, who had been security minister for a time, and Amir Peretz, head of Israel's much-weakened labor federation, Histadrut.
Then came a surprise.
Around the time of the primaries, the Labor hacks waved the bloody shirt of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated in 1995. News started to leak that the man convicted of the crime, Yigal Amir, actually had shot blanks at Rabin and that the murder had been the work of the General Security Service (Sherutei Bitachon Klali -- Shabak) agents -- who were in the pay of Peres, a Rabin rival. The news was just enough to defeat Peres in the election, and Peretz, a fellow familiar for his continual strikes to protect Histadrut control over pension funds, was now leader of the Labor Party.
The newspapers all rumbled, "Earthquake in Israel! Peres ousted as Labor leader", as Peretz moved forward to pull Labor out of the governing coalition, thus forcing early elections -- and very possibly an early primary in the Likud.
Sharon had been dropping broad hints that he might leave the party from even before the election within Labor, and now he kept the rumors alive. A few days ago, a poll came out indicating that were elections held that day, Labor and an unnamed political party headed by Sharon would pull even with 28 seats each, with the Likud falling to 20 seats. Shinui -- a political party of militant secularists whose leader, Yosef Lapid, is remarkably like an Israeli Archie Bunker -- would drop to six or seven. Several polls that came later reported similar numbers.
To form a governing coalition in Israel, you need a majority of the 120 seats in the Knesset. If you were to add the seats of Sharon's new party (now named Kadima), Labor and Shinui together in this poll, you get 61 -- a majority.
As we say in Yiddish, nu? Do you really need to ask?
Sharon bolted his own party and informed us Israelis, who allegedly were waiting with bated breath, of his intentions. The phrase "earthquake in Israel" made its appearance again in the English language on-line edition of the left-wing paper, Yediot Ahronot.
The last time we had elections here in 2003, Amram Mitzna, the mayor from Haifa who headed the Labor Party, pounded his fist saying, "Gaza First", meaning that we should pull out of Gaza first. Sharon ridiculed him, sweeping Likud to its highest number of seats in the Knesset ever, 38, and shrinking Labor to 19 seats. Sharon then proceeded to do exactly as Mitzna recommended.
New elections are scheduled for March 28, 2006. The silly season has returned to the Holy Land -- again. But we're seeing a new phenomenon this time around that we've never really seen before...
Sharon is the bought-out U.S. flunky. Peres is the bought-out European Union flunky. So I expect to see huge amounts of western money being poured into Kadima's coffers. It is easier to pour money into one pail than several and attempt to make one political party the holder of power than it would be to coordinate efforts through several political parties as has been done in the past. What I'm saying is that this strange phenomenon of the "successful center party" is the result of manipulation of foreign powers determined to control events here...

You've all heard of Arab traders.
They are famous throughout the world.
It's not an ethnic stereotype. It's a cultural reality. I say this as an American of Arabic heritage – someone with close to 30 years of journalistic experience covering this part of the world.
Just when you think you have finally struck a deal with an Arab, they play what I call the "bakshish" card.
There are many ways to explain the term "bakshish." It can mean a bribe for the seller for cutting you such a great deal. It can mean a "tip" or gratuity. Or, more precisely, I have always thought of it as a way to up the ante, raise the stakes, even nix a deal that is already all-but consummated.
Here's the way it works in the real world. Picture yourself at an Arab bazaar. You find a nice item you wish to purchase. You haggle back and forth over the price for what seems like an interminable time. Finally, when you think you have agreement on the purchase price, the seller says: "You forgot about the bakshish." Then it starts all over again.
Last weekend, the Palestinian Authority played its bakshish card in its continuing efforts to raise the stakes in demands on Israel for land concessions. The PA's Office for Religious Affairs claimed the Western Wall – revered by Jews since A.D. 70 as the last structural remnant of the Second Temple.
You've seen the pictures of Jews worshipping at the Western Wall, sometimes called the "Wailing Wall." You've seen the TV video streams of Jews sticking prayers scrawled on tiny pieces of paper into the cracks of the wall. For nearly 2,000 years, it has been considered along with the Temple Mount it supports the only truly holy site for Jews all over the world.
Now, the Arabs say it legitimately belongs to Muslims only. Bakshish.
This shouldn't be surprising, given Muslims claim no Jewish temple ever stood upon the Temple Mount, despite overwhelming archaeological and historical evidence to the contrary.
So now the Western Wall, the most Jewish piece of real estate in the world, is on the negotiating table.
It's a move so audacious, it is mind-boggling.
But, ultimately, Israelis have only themselves to blame.
A little history is in order.
In 1967, Israel was surrounded by Arab armies hell-bent on a coordinated attack by Egypt, Syria, Jordan and other Arab countries. Badly outnumbered and outgunned, Israel's only hope was a pre-emptive attack, which was launched June 6. In a lightning-like strike, Israeli forces attacked first on three fronts. In what we now call the Six-Day War, Israel rolled up the Egyptian Army, the Syrian Army and captured Judea and Samaria from Jordan, Gaza and Sinai from Egypt and the Golan Heights from Syria. Israel could have gone much further – all the way to Damascus and Cairo if the Jewish state had desired.
Most significantly, however, Israel captured all of Jerusalem – including the Temple Mount.
And what did the Israelis do with the only Jewish holy site in the world? Nearly immediately, after this miraculous, hard-fought victory, Israel's secular leaders turned administrative control over the Temple Mount to Muslims.
They apparently believed this act of "good will" would be perceived as a demonstration that the Jewish state only wanted to live in peace with its neighbors. But the Arabs saw it as an act of appeasement, a show of weakness, not strength.
In effect, Israel turned over to the Arabs the most Jewish piece of real estate to the Muslims – a move that chipped away at Israel's very legitimacy. You see, if the Jews don't have an absolute claim to the Temple Mount, how can they defend Jewish control of Tel Aviv or anything else?
It was not only a huge strategic and political blunder that has never been rectified, it was also, in my personal opinion, an offense to the God of Israel – the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Most Israeli political leaders don't really believe they have a biblical mandate to the land. They don't want to defend that. They don't want to stand on that promise. They prefer to rely on their own military might and compromise.
If Israel has a claim to any land in the Middle East, and I believe it does, that claim begins with the Temple Mount. Turning over control to radical Muslim clerics hasn't bought any good will for Israel. On the contrary, it has brought the Jewish state 38 years of terror and strife.
Every time Israel makes a land concession to the Arabs, it encourages more demands, higher stakes, the dream of annihilation – more of the old bakshish.

This shouldn't be surprising, given Muslims claim no Jewish temple ever stood upon the Temple Mount, despite overwhelming archaeological and historical evidence to the contrary.
So now the Western Wall, the most Jewish piece of real estate in the world, is on the negotiating table.
It's a move so audacious, it is mind-boggling.
But, ultimately, Israelis have only themselves to blame.
A little history is in order.
In 1967, Israel was surrounded by Arab armies hell-bent on a coordinated attack by Egypt, Syria, Jordan and other Arab countries. Badly outnumbered and outgunned, Israel's only hope was a pre-emptive attack, which was launched June 6. In a lightning-like strike, Israeli forces attacked first on three fronts. In what we now call the Six-Day War, Israel rolled up the Egyptian Army, the Syrian Army and captured Judea and Samaria from Jordan, Gaza and Sinai from Egypt and the Golan Heights from Syria. Israel could have gone much further – all the way to Damascus and Cairo if the Jewish state had desired.
Most significantly, however, Israel captured all of Jerusalem – including the Temple Mount.
And what did the Israelis do with the only Jewish holy site in the world? Nearly immediately, after this miraculous, hard-fought victory, Israel's secular leaders turned administrative control over the Temple Mount to Muslims.
They apparently believed this act of "good will" would be perceived as a demonstration that the Jewish state only wanted to live in peace with its neighbors. But the Arabs saw it as an act of appeasement, a show of weakness, not strength.
In effect, Israel turned over to the Arabs the most Jewish piece of real estate to the Muslims – a move that chipped away at Israel's very legitimacy. You see, if the Jews don't have an absolute claim to the Temple Mount, how can they defend Jewish control of Tel Aviv or anything else?
It was not only a huge strategic and political blunder that has never been rectified, it was also, in my personal opinion, an offense to the God of Israel – the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Most Israeli political leaders don't really believe they have a biblical mandate to the land. They don't want to defend that. They don't want to stand on that promise. They prefer to rely on their own military might and compromise.
If Israel has a claim to any land in the Middle East, and I believe it does, that claim begins with the Temple Mount. Turning over control to radical Muslim clerics hasn't bought any good will for Israel. On the contrary, it has brought the Jewish state 38 years of terror and strife.
Every time Israel makes a land concession to the Arabs, it encourages more demands, higher stakes, the dream of annihilation – more of the old bakshish.

While eating lunch this afternoon in front of my computer I had a strong urge to type my grandmothers name onto Google to see what, if anything would come up. I have never done this before and to my surprise, the first website listed was a link to your article entitled "Mama Evans".
I just wanted to say hello and to thank you for writting such a nice article on my Grandmother. I think about her all the time and I have to say I am in shock (just a little) that i found your article so randomly and so close to the date that it was written. Perhaps its Erma's way of sending you a little feedback (via me) for keeping her spirit alive through your words.

How a loving Christian woman from the South touched so many lives in the North.
Erma Evans, a widow in the Church of God, served as a perfect example of what the Apostle Paul called for from our senior women (Titus 2:3). She touched the lives of many and was affectionately called "Mama Evans" by the young fellows of the Worldwide Church of God in Toledo, Ohio — church singles whom she would graciously have over for a home-cooked meal every month.
Mrs. Evans knew all about southern hospitality since she was originally from Mud Creek, Kentucky. She would offer the meal, after we prayed, and would often then fall asleep on her couch, practically purring like a kitty, content as we fellowshipped and played board games or cards.
The following is a letter from "Mama Evans" that she sent me when I was living in Israel (August 1989), getting ready to begin a work-study program at Kibbutz Sdot Yam near Caesarea.. It reveals a little more of this precious woman God blessed us with:
Dear David:
Just a few lines to say hello and that I miss you very much and get a thrill of thankfulness and joy when I can speak of having a son in Israel. This must be a dream come true. All my life I have dreamed of going to all the far off places. I think I was born a wanderlust child. Any place even as a little girl that I read or heard about it just filled me with desire to get up and go. Even today I feel the same way.
My Dad must have been the same way because his books of which he had many were about places all over the world. He would talk to me even when I was 5 yrs. old about the far corners of the earth even China, but I never got any farther than Toledo.
But in the world tomorrow I hope to be able to flit from place to place. When I looked at the picture I could picture Christ walking on the shores of Galilee. I pray for His Coming to rescue the world. It can't be too soon for me.
Everyone who knows you misses you. You are a special kind of guy. A little rebellious with a head full of dreams mixed with knowledge, There can't be another like you. I have a feeling you are very special to God.
Take care honey and don't forget all that you know of God's Truth. Bye for now.

She used to say things like "a little love goes a long way " and "they need love the most who deserve it the least" and "tears purify the soul." I was pleased to write this poem for her one Sabbath day (on the spur of the moment, wanting to help let her know how much we loved and appreciated her). I gave it to her at our Church services before I left, getting a big hug and kiss in return:

Her warmth and love is known both far & wide
Her wonderful smile illuminates lives
Her sweet laughter uplifts many hearts
Helping both young & old she knows is her part
Giving hugs & kisses, making many meals
Veritable love feasts from a woman sincere

Death to America?
One of the dire consequences for our national disobedience (Dan. 9:11) is where we have the power but lack the will to use it:
"And I will break the pride of your power..." (Leviticus 26:19).
The following is an excerpt from Death to America: The Unreported Battle of Iraq by Ryan Mauro that seems to underscore this fact.
(Although this appears negative, the author remains positive America can correct the situation)
Unfortunately, the US appears unable or unwilling to do much about the Iranian and Syrian roles in the insurgency. The American public would not tolerate too forceful action, and the Administration obviously has political concerns. If the military got more aggressive, the rogues could increase the chaos inside Iraq. The Iranian and Syrian dissident communities are receiving little or no support, and thus our enemies have the strong hand at the bargaining table.
Rogue states believe that America is a "paper tiger," lacking the will power to succeed. They have good reason to believe this. Throughout recent history, the enemy has been encouraged by actions such as:
A. The 1980s US and French retreat from Lebanon.
B. The success of the Somali operation.
C. The inability of the West to effectively isolate the rogue regimes, or to comprehend the level to which terrorism is state-sponsored.
D. The reluctance to support freedom-fighters in anti-American regimes, instead deciding to cut deals and appease.
E. The little action the world community and UN has taken.
F. How long it took for action to be taken against Saddam Hussein and how much he could get away with. This includes the failure to remove him after the Gulf War or to support the Kurds and Shiites when they rebelled against his rule in 1991.
G. The pathetic action taken in response to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the 1998 embassy bombings, the USS Cole bombing, and other operations.
H. The inability of the Americans to have a consistent foreign policy especially during election times.

David knows that just outside Tel Aviv is the biggest garbage dump accumulated anywhere ever. It is the size of a hill and seen from miles around. They need only to paint it with RED DIAMONDS... and locate the Sharon party headquarters there to feel at home.

Yet Europe has become an economic power in today's world and is well on the path to becoming a global power of the first magnitude.

In September 2003 an article appeared in the American magazine The Weekly Standard titled, "Against United Europe." The article was written by a British journalist and advocated an anti-EU strategy by developing ties with Eastern member states and advising Britain not to adopt the euro. It concluded: "It is not too late for the United States to help stop the European superstate from becoming a reality."
Mr. Schnabel argues that the European Union is a reality—that there is no turning back despite the problems of the constitution and the current talks over the admission of Turkey.
He does, however, look at the EU as a guarantee of stability among its members and a force for democracy and Western values in neighboring countries. America, in his view, needs to learn how to work with this rising power to insure a continued voice in world affairs. The core of the book is chapters 2 and 3, "The European Union as an Economic Superpower" and "The European Union as a Geopolitical Superpower." Through a complex bureaucracy that includes myriad rules, laws, statutes and standards, the EU has managed to thwart such powerful businesses as Microsoft and General Electric from business deals in Europe. Farmers in Indiana plant only acceptable crops so as not to lose access to the lucrative European market. Even McDonalds was forced to alter chemicals used in toys in Happy Meals because they did not meet EU standards.
Simply put, the EU has in place a regulatory regime that it seeks to impose on the rest of the world. This could have large consequences for the innovation and growth of U.S. businesses, since the EU promotes its way of regulation to the rest of the world.
This obsession with regulation has led one EU trade negotiator to say the world suffers from "a deficit of global rules." This logic leads to the conclusion that pollution, poverty and disease do not respect national borders in a global economy. So, the solution is "global governance."
"The main role of the European Union in international affairs, both political and economical, must be to give teeth and to give bite to the multilateralism," says Pascal Lamy, director-general of the World Trade Organization. Mr. Lamy quotes EU father Jean Monnet that the EU is "nothing but a step towards the organization of tomorrow's world."
Such statements bring to mind the description in Revelation 18 of a world economic system that dominates the end-time events.
The book describes the difference between "hard" and "soft" power. Hard power is military and economic might, both of which America possesses in abundance. The EU does not have the same degree of military status as America today. Soft power is a co-optive power, the ability to manipulate another nation through the attractiveness of one's culture or values. It is this soft power, the ability to coerce favorable actions from other nations without intervention, where the EU is gaining ground.
Chapter 3 describes how the EU is developing the geopolitical power to enforce its economic status. A 2004 CIA think tank report stated: "The EU, rather than NATO, will increasingly become the primary institution for Europe, and the role which Europeans shape for themselves on the world stage is most likely to be projected through it."
Europe knows the major problems of today's world (weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict) will demand their direct action. Their goal is to guarantee their own security entirely without U.S. assistance. That day has not yet arrived, but they have plans to develop their own military defense.
Economic, demographic and political forces are rising that will force the EU to act on its own behalf apart from the confines of the old Atlantic alliance. Large events propel large responses. And history shows the result is not always what the architects planned. Europe is rising from among the nations as a superpower, and in time it will be part of the largest world power bloc ever known.

The REAL JESUS CHRIST can't return until...

Biblical Warnings

President Bush is committed to relocating our embassy to Jerusalem?
While running for office, George W. Bush spoke for moving the embassy to Jerusalem and it SOUNDED great. Sad to say, once in office, President George W. Bush continues to put off the holy issue just like President William Jefferson Clinton did, suspending the move, sitting on the fence, rupturing themselves and their professions of being a Bible believer.
If Presidents Clinton and Bush were truly Bible believers they would immediately move our American embassy to Jerusalem and stand their holy ground without apology, especially to Arab countries who we can't trust for a second and who will never be pleased as long as we're not Muslim.

Hear Ye. Hear Ye! The following facts may be hazardous to your health and the health of all freedom loving peoples!
THE TRUTH COMES TOO LATE
There is not and has never been a validated Oslo Accord between the PLO/PA and the State of Israel. What, you may exclaim? Why then does the media constantly engage in discussing this agreement as if it were live and well and agreed upon by two sides? Has it been forgotten that the Palestinian ruling body never signed this accord? Why does Israel along with many nations of the world proceed as if it were valid and considered so by two sides? The fact is that despite the status of the agreement, Israel continued along giving the PA billions of dollars, weapons, land
concessions and political autonomy? This is a bitter realization; that so
many sacrifices were made for an agreement existing in theory only. The
media continued to push under the carpet the fact that the old covenant
calling for the destructing of Israel was alive and well in the PLO/PA
committees, while Oslo remained unsigned. Everybody seemed to recognize the Oslo Accords - with the important exclusion of one of the two parties bound by the agreement. Now, there is anger that this fact remained clouded over, and only after the granting of autonomy, with the following terrible bloodshed, serious injuries and loss of life, destruction, and damage to Israel's socioeconomic structures, this fact become painfully clear. Why now are we just being told that there never was a valid accord? For what did we stake so many lives?
THE MECHANICS OF AN INVALID AGREEMENT
The truth is, as stated above; there is not and never was a valid Oslo
Agreement. After himself signing the accords, Arafat summoned the PLO's
executive committee to session but was not able or did not wish to succeed in achieving a quorum. Therefore no vote could be held at this time. Arafat may have called for further meetings but out of opposition to Oslo, various factions always succeeded in boycotting critical meetings. Not then, and not ever was a favorable vote achieved in this committee. In addition, after three sessions of the Fatah Central Committee, it was decided that no vote would be held. Arafat never even attempted to convene the PLO National Council, where he might try again and petition for approval of the accords. (The above is equivalent to the parliamentary rejection of a Prime Ministers proposal – or a presidents failure to win approval either in the House, the Senate or his own Cabinet.) Therefore, all that was received by America, Israel, and the rest of the world was a piece of paper signed by one master criminal terrorist, not validated by parties of leadership and with no binding legal power over the PLO-PA. The media continued to emphasize the acceptance by one man of the accords, but Arafat's signature did not create a working Accord. It certainly did not
replace the old militantly anti-Semitic Covenant which remained as the
PLO/PA's official reference and legislative machine. The basis for a
lethal situation had already been laid, A documented calling for
compromise, mutual rights, a laying down of arms and mutual trust, was
signed, seriously studied and implemented by one of the opposing sides, was phlegmatically ignored by the other, and with more then a little help form the media was cheered and applauded by the rest of the world.
In addition to the above, there are many experts who believe that Arafat
himself was against the accords, and that he himself instructed and
engineered the blockage of the accords.
SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE
Despite the media's insistence that the PA\PLO had changed some of the
statutes of the covenant, (and specifically the statutes calling for
Israel's destruction) this simply was not so. The PLO continued to act
according to it's old covenant. They simply used the old Palestinian
covenant as a basis to legislate new laws when needed.
The Oslo accords were never legal, were never ratified, and were never made binding to any of the PLO organizations. Hence, the continued terror,
support of terror, and sedition of the PA/PLO never violated any
agreements, because they had never accepted them upon themselves Arafat's scribblings. As one PLO member once said, the White House and the Israelis can scribble on toilet paper all they want. And if Arafat signs at the end of the roll, it still has nothing to do with us.
Just imagine the volume of the noise, the hysteria, panic and screaming
the media would make in the case of any government that tried to push down peoples throats, without referendum etc, a right-wing religious agenda based on a nonratified agreement with a foreign suspect entity. That’s right. The outcry would reach the high heavens, would be nonstop 24/7, and would result in legal sanctions against such moves. In our case, a left-wing agenda made with an arch-criminal terrorist and never ratified by the groups he supposedly represented, met with absolute silence. The media demonstrated moral bankruptcy and negligence that could be considered criminal. In other words, reviving the real old-fashioned soviet style of reporting.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told a Moroccan newspaper that if security and quiet are attained, he is definitely ready to recognize a Palestinian state and to “go a long way” in negotiations.
In an interview in Le Economist, Sharon said that while Israel would not return to the borders that existed prior to the 1967 Six Day War, it was ready to exchange territories with a Palestinian state.
The idea of retaining settlement blocs in Judea and Samaria, in exchange for other territories liberated by Israel in the 1948 War of Independence, is similar to proposals set forth in the “Geneva Initiative,” a draft agreement for a negotiated settlement which would set up a Palestinian state.
That initiative has been strongly supported by Meretz-Yahad leader Yossi Beilin, and provides for handing over the Old City of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, to Arab control. /
With whispers of the withered Sharon further drying up his soul by being ready to surrender Judaism's holiest site - the Temple Mount - officially to Ishmaelites, this should serve as a wake up call, a warning shot to every Jew and Israeli to reclaim the Temple Mount NOW! Israelis will never restore the Temple Mount as the Temple Mount as long as they're willing to accept the deplorable status quo that practices religious discrimination against them daily. More "race riots" in Toledo?
Next Sabbath, December 10th, the National Socialist Movement (NSM) plan to continue their protest in Toledo, Ohio that was previously disrupted by black riots, looting and mayhem against their own neighborhood, cops and medical people there to help.
Will Toledo blacks learn to ignore those who want them to prove how primitive some can be, or will the riots occur again with an even greater number of arrests? Hopefully, the Toledo police will be prepared and out in force and refuse to tolerate anarchy because of the color of some peoples' skin and the racist pressure of the NAACP (who always demand preferential treatment for non-whites).
Let's hope the wiser blacks control their own - that cooler heads prevail. The ministers and the mayor should call upon the black community to have a NO SHOW for the Nazi gathering, and their white liberal "friends" should go get stoned somewhere else. That way it will be a non-event and nobody will have regrets the next day except those who were left to talk to themselves.

Need we wonder? Considering German hegemony throughout Europe is practically a done deal (with the Vatican's blessing), aren't Herbert W. Armstrong's warnings about the final revival of the "Holy Roman Empire" being fulfilled before our very eyes? Only the deaf, dumb and blind could deny that the Germans have thoroughly carried out their plans!
But what is the German-Catholic kingdom without the crown of Jerusalem? "Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David dwelt!" (Isaiah 29:1). The Vatican covets the Temple Mount and Europe won't quit until it occupies the eternal capital of Israel! Both the Arabs and the Jews had better beware any European moves into the Middle East.
The Philadelphia Trumpet magazine (Feb. 2000) reminded its international audience that Herbert W. Armstrong wrote those prophetic words long before they were confirmed by Reuters Arthur Spiegelman, who wrote on May 10, 1996: "Realizing they were losing the war in 1944, Nazi leaders met top German industrialists to plan a secret post-war international network to restore them to power, according to a newly declassified U.S. intelligence document. The document...says an SS general and a representative of the German armaments ministry told such companies as Krupp and Rohling that they must be prepared to finance the Nazi Party...when it went underground."
Ella Steinberg, executive director of the World Jewish Congress stated: "Now that the Nazi secret plan has been confirmed, the central question is whether it has been carried out."

World Jewry and Israelis especially should be ashamed of themselves! The very fact that the Temple Mount remains without a Temple stands as an indictment against Judaism. God hates hypocrisy. I'm sure it stinks to high Heaven when folks celebrate Hanukkah by eating sufganiot rather than liberating the Temple Mount and demanding their leaders DO SOMETHING.
