Role of multinational force in Lebanon explored

MONTREAL - Avi Primor, a respected Israeli diplomat, is a former Israeli ambassador to Germany and the European Union, and a former vice-president of Tel Aviv University. He is currently director of European studies at the interdisciplinary centre of Herzliya University.
Primor, who is close to Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz, has, from the beginning of the war with Lebanon, been responsible for evaluating the possibility of deploying an international military force in southern Lebanon.
In an interview from his home in Tel Aviv, Primor discussed the war.
Canadian Jewish News: Could the international community force Israel to accept a ceasefire?
Primor: In the final analysis, the situation is this: no one wants war and everyone wants a ceasefire, but it depends on the conditions. If we’re talking about having a ceasefire imposed on us, as Hezbollah, Iran and Syria are asking, in order to preserve the status quo ante, it’s out of the question. The situation in southern Lebanon has to change drastically, completely.
At the moment, the Lebanese army is too weak to deploy troops in southern Lebanon. The other possibility is to call on a strong international force capable of fighting the Hezbollah militia and allowing the government in Beirut to impose its authority on all of southern Lebanon. If these conditions were met, then there could be a ceasefire. Meanwhile, Israel must continue to fight Hezbollah, and at the same time, prepare the ground for the deployment of an international force.
CJN: What role does Israel see for this multinational force?
Primor: This would have to be very different from other peace forces that have been sent to the Middle East. It would be an international force modelled on the multinational force that was established in Kosovo, or the one that attacked Iraq in 1991 to liberate Kuwait. It would be a combat force, not a force of observers.
A few days before her first visit to Lebanon and Israel, American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the same thing – that any international force must have the mandate and the military potential needed to be active rather than passive like the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) soldiers now stationed in southern Lebanon.
CJN: Is this multinational force likely to be in place soon?
Primor: No, it would take several weeks to deploy. The troops have to be organized, with the approval of their governments, once the governments have the approval of their respective parliaments. The military intervention force will also need to have a clear mandate from the United Nations.
CJN: Would this force operate under the aegis of the United Nations?
Primor: No. This military force would not be under the direct command of the United Nations, but probably under that of NATO. The UN will only give its approval to the military force to give it international legitimacy.
CJN: Do you think the Lebanese government will agree to collaborate with this international intervention force?
Primor: It’s in the Lebanese government’s best interest to collaborate closely with this multinational force whose principal mandate will be to disarm Hezbollah. Without the help of the political authorities in Beirut, the military force will not be able to accomplish its objectives.
CJN: What are the main countries that will provide soldiers for this international military force?
Primor: The countries Israel would like to see participate are the ones that have a stake in Lebanon. First of all, France, which has a stake in and an emotional attachment to Lebanon and a military force that can carry out this type of foreign mission. The French military has already proven itself in several countries. But France can’t and doesn’t want to do this work alone. It will probably receive support from other European military forces, certainly from Germany.
CJN: Is it possible that the presence of German soldiers on Israel’s northern border will make Israelis uncomfortable?
Primor: Yes. The majority of Israelis would view with disfavour any deployment of German military forces along the Israeli-Lebanese border. Any accidental confrontation would have dramatic consequences for both Israel and Germany. But if there are German forces, I think they would have to take on two important tasks: helping with logistics, and stationing troops in northern Lebanon along the Syrian border to prevent the passage of Iranian arms coming to Lebanon through Syria.
CJN: Will the high number of Lebanese civilians who have died in IDF bombings of Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon weaken the support of western governments for Israel?
Primor: I don’t share that view. On the contrary, I believe it has been a very long time since Israel has had the benefit of such strong international support, including that of Europe. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t critics or concerns. The images that are being shown – you see them more than we Israelis do because our television stations protect us from them – are tragic images. You must understand that no sensitive human beings can remain indifferent to these images.
I attended some of the conversations that Condoleezza Rice had with top Israeli politicians during her first stop in Jerusalem. Eighty per cent of these discussions dealt with humanitarian issues in Lebanon. Nevertheless, Rice, like the Bush administration, unconditionally supports the State of Israel. She does not want a ceasefire. On the contrary, she wants Israel to continue to fight Hezbollah. There are even a fair number of Americans who are pushing us to attack Syria.
Yet the American politicians are very aware of the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. And American public opinion, like public opinion anywhere in the world, is very sensitive to the war images coming from Lebanon. Still, the fact that European public opinion is also very sensitive to these dreadful images doesn’t mean that it does not support Israel in her war, which is a just war, a war of defence against the Islamist forces that attacked us.
CJN: In an interview with the newspaper Le Monde (July 27), French President Jacques Chirac said: “In this conflict, the blame is obviously shared.” Did that declaration shock Israelis?
Primor: Of course it shocked us. But you must understand that France has always been very sensitive toward Lebanon. The country is, in a way, its precious child. In addition, if France has to be at the forefront in southern Lebanon, it doesn’t want to alienate a majority of Lebanese. It wants the popular support of the Lebanese people. France can’t support Israel unconditionally because it would have very little credibility with the Lebanese.
I understand France’s position. But I can also tell you that in private conversations we have had with French political figures, we have seen that the French position is not so black-and-white.
CJN: In this conflict, English-speaking countries, specifically the United States, Great Britain, Canada and Australia, are supporting Israel, whereas non-anglophone countries, especially in Europe, are criticizing – some vehemently – Israel’s entirely legitimate response to the Hezbollah attacks. How do you explain this?
Primor: I don’t know how the situation appears in Canada, but the United States and England are both in an all-out war, in Iraq and Afghanistan, against Islamist terrorist forces. These two countries, both directly affected by Islamist terrorism, are more sensitive to Israel’s struggle against terrorist organizations. Europe, with the exception of England, is not present on these battlegrounds.
CJN: Is this conflict likely to significantly tarnish Israel’s image in the world?
Primor: I think Israel’s image will depend a lot on the outcome of this conflict. If this war ends with Hezbollah being significantly weakened, international law being imposed, and the restoration of the legitimacy of the government of Beirut in all of the Lebanese territory, I believe the overall result for Israel will be positive, although there will always be critics.

Germany mulls sending troops to Lebanon

Germany looks increasingly likely to agree to send troops to Lebanon with debate already raging in the country about the merits of the move six decades after the Holocaust.
With the Lebanon situation demanding quick decisions, defence minister Franz-Josef Jung is on Thursday in New York to present concrete proposals about German soldier participation in the international peace-keeping force.
Speaking at a military base in Hanover on Tuesday, Mr Jung said he would illustrate where German capabilities are at the UN meeting.
Spiegel Online reports that chancellor Angela Merkel, the head of the conservatives in Bavaria, Edmond Stoiber, deputy chancellor Franz Muntefering and head of the SPD party Kurt Beck will hold an extraordinary meeting today to discuss the issue.
The high-ranked politicians will try and work out a common line on the possible sending of German soldiers to southern Lebanon with some politicians strongly against the move.
How to participate
Eckart von Klaeden, foreign policy spokesman for the conservatives in parliament, said it was more a question of how Germany would participate, not if it would participate.
"I think it is a given that we should contribute but what the contribution will look like will only come after ongoing talks," said Mr von Klaeden.
He indicated that one option would be for Germany to send its navy to patrol the coast off Lebanon and Israel.
Speaking to the Berliner Zeitung, Christian Schmidt, a conservative junior defence minister, said "Participating directly in the buffer zone in southern Lebanon is not a priority for us,"
But any participation in peace-keeping in the middle-east makes some Germans uneasy - picturing a situation where Germans would have to shoot at Israeli soldiers.
Before today's meeting, Mr Beck said he wanted to avoid any situation where German and Israeli soldiers come in conflict with one another.
Mr Stoiber, who is strongly against the deployment of German troops in the area for peace-keeping purposes, suggested that the country could help in other ways such as in the building up of a Lebanese security structure or technical support for police and security exercises.
He referred to the Germany's "particular history" as a reason for not using German soldiers on the Lebanon-Israel border.
Israel not against
Israel itself has said it would not be against Germany's participation.
In a recent interview with the Suddeutsche newspaper, Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert said he had told the chancellor that Israel had "absolutely no problem with German soldiers in southern Lebanon".
"There is at the moment no nation that is behaving in a more friendly way towards Israel than Germany," Mr Olmert said. "If Germany can contribute to the security of the Israeli people, that would be a worthwhile task for your country".
The number UN troops in Lebanon is supposed to be pumped up from the current 2000 to a total of 15,000 soldiers.
Yesterday a UN official said 3,500 troops could already be deployed to Lebanon within two weeks to reinforce the current UN peacekeeping contingent so the Lebanese army can start moving into the south of Lebanon and Israeli troops can withdraw.
Several European countries have indicated they will participate in the UN force including France – expected to lead it – Italy, Spain and Turkey.

Outcry over Lebanon
Shock, anger and disappointment were felt by many inside and outside Israel – by Israel-loving Jews and Israel-loving Christians – at the unsatisfactory and premature outcome of Israel’s latest war.
The nation has been severely shaken, and a process has already begun that could well lead to a new political and military change of direction, possibly even a change in Israel’s government.
Many people, among them Lebanese – especially that country’s real Christians who have suffered for years from the Hizbollah and other Muslim extremists occupying their country – are also deeply disappointed in the half-baked outcome of this recent war.
To give you a glimpse of the feelings and opinions, chiefly Israeli and Lebanese, I have listed some of the most remarkable heartfelt outcries expressed by them:
Joseph Farah writes (in WorldNetDaily, August 2006)
“When Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Liberation Organization tried to take over the country and make it his terrorist playground, nobody cared.
When people were dying by the thousands in the civil war, nobody cared.
When Syria had its boot on the neck of its tiny neighbor for 25 years, nobody cared.
When Iran dispatched Hezbollah terrorists into the country to undermine home rule by Lebanese, nobody cared.
When Muslims chased millions of Christians from the country, tipping the balance of power, nobody cared.
But now, all eyes are on Lebanon.
Do you know why?
Because Israel has tried to clean up this hornet's nest. Yet all we hear about is how many Lebanese are dying.
The whole world is going nuts over this "slaughter."
Does any of this make sense?
Do you think those screaming about the bloodshed in Lebanon really give a hoot about Lebanon? If so, where have they been for the last 30 years?
Why is Lebanon the top story in every newscast? Why is Lebanon on the front page of every newspaper? Don't you get the impression that the violence there is probably worse than anywhere else on the planet from this focus?
Clearly it is not.
And the only difference is who's doing the butt kicking in Lebanon.
As for me, an American of Lebanese and Syrian heritage, I don't want to see a "cease-fire." I want to see Lebanon freed of the terrorist blight, once and for all. I want to see Lebanon freed from domination by Iran and Syria. I want to see Lebanon be Lebanon. I don't want to see Lebanon suffer for another 30 years. It's time to clean up the mess and allow this poor, little country to heal.
And that means getting rid of the disease of Hezbollah – now.”
And the courageous Brigitte Gabriel, a Christian Lebanese writes:
“While the world protected the PLO withdrawing from Lebanon in 1983 with Israel hot on their heels, another more volatile and religiously idealistic organization was being born: Hezbollah, "the Party of Allah," founded by Ayatollah Khomeini and financed by Iran. It was Hezbollah who blew up the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon in October, 1983 killing 241 Americans and 67 French paratroopers that same day. President Reagan ordered U.S. Multilateral Force units to withdraw and closed the books on the marine massacre and US involvement in Lebanon February 1984.
The civilized world, which erroneously vilified the Christians and Israel back then and continues to vilify Israel now, was not paying attention. While America and the rest of the world were concerned about the Israeli /PLO problem, terrorist regimes in Syria and Iran fanned Islamic radicalism in Lebanon and around the world. Hezbollah's Shiite extremists began multiplying like proverbial rabbits, out-producing moderate Sunnis and Christians. Twenty-five years later they have produced enough people to vote themselves into 24 seats in the Lebanese parliament. Since the Israeli pullout in 2000, Lebanon has become a terrorist base completely run and controlled by Syria with its puppet Lebanese President Lahood and the Hezbollah "state within a state."
The Lebanese army has less than 10,000 military troops. Hezbollah has over 4,000 trained militia forces and there are approximately 700 Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Southern Lebanon and the Beka’a Valley. So why can't the army do the job? Because the majority of Lebanese Muslims making up the army will split and unite along religious lines with the Islamic forces just like what happened in 1976 at the start of the Lebanese civil war.
It all boils down to a war of Islamic Jihad ideology vs. Judeo Christian Westernism. Muslims, who are now the majority of Lebanon's population, support Hezbollah because they are part of the Islamic Ummah-the nation. This is the taboo subject everyone is trying to avoid. The latest attacks on Israel have been orchestrated by Iran and Syria driven by two different interests. Syria considers Lebanon a part of "greater" Syria. Young Syrian President Assad and his Ba'athist military intelligence henchmen in
Damascus are using this latest eruption of violence to prove to the Lebanese that they need the Syrian presence to protect them from the Israeli aggression and to stabilize the country. Iran is conveniently using its Lebanese puppet army Hezbollah, to distract the attention of world leaders meeting at the G-8 summit in St. Petersburg, from its pursuit of nuclear weapons. Apocalyptic Iranian President Ahmadinejad and the ruling Mullah clerics in Tehran want to assert hegemony in the Islamic world under the banner of Shia Mahdist madness. Ahmadinejad wants to seal his place as top Jihadist for Allah by make good his promise to “wipe Israel off the map.”
No matter how much the west avoids facing the reality of Islamic extremism of the Middle East, the west cannot hide from the fact that the same Hamas and Hezbollah that Israel is fighting over there, are of the same radical Islamic ideology that has fomented carnage and death through terrorism that America and the world are fighting. This is the same Hezbollah that Iran is threatening to unleash in America with suicide bomb attacks if America tries to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapon. They have cells in over 10 cities in the United States. Hamas, has the largest terrorist infrastructure on American soil. This is what happens when you turn a blind eye to evil for decades, hoping it will go away.”
Suzy Goldy insightfully writes:
“It has been a continual downhill fall, from their fundamentally flawed Oslo Plan to the dances of Arafat, to giving weapons to the Palestinians to getting out of Lebanon and allowing Hezbollah to arm for years with 12,000 missiles, to getting out of Gaza while uprooting and abusing peaceful Jewish Farmers and on and on until their incompetent handling of the current war with Hezbollah.
It is unbelievable but it has taken the Israeli Leftists and intellectuals over 55 years of wars, terror attacks and Oslo to finally realize the Arabs mean what they say – that they want to destroy (D-E-S-T-R-O-Y) Israel!!! Even Amos Oz and the “Peace Now” think-tanks finally get it!!!!”
Rachel and Moshe Saperstein formerly from Neve Dekalim in Gush Katif write:
“Moshe and I have the remains of a Kassam rocket which exploded near our home in Neve Dekalim. The words Al Kuds were printed on its tail fins. Al Kuds is Arabic for Jerusalem. The message is quite clear. The war was not about Gush Katif. It was about Jerusalem. Just as the war in the north is not about Lebanon. It is a war to destroy Israel. Last year the people of Israel and Jews from abroad chose to ignore the message. They let Gush Katif fall. Today our country is in ruins.
Last week a plot to destroy airliners from Britain to the United States was foiled. The message is clear. The war, of which ours is a part, is of the east determined to destroy the west. The west chooses to ignore the message. Just as Gush Katif led straight to Lebanon, so the war against Israel will lead straight to the war against the west.
While the war rages in the north, we have been receiving signals that Syria is stockpiling huge quantities of weapons along its border with Israel. The weapons are deadlier and have a longer range. Yet our prime minister still speaks of his ‘convergence’ plan to remove 100,000 Jews from Judea and Samaria and to give our Biblical homeland to our enemies, bringing the heartland of the country into the range of enemy weapons. Win or lose, the Arabs win.
Is it any wonder that we, the refugees of Gush Katif, are still angry, hurt, bewildered and horrified by the results of our expulsion?
Excuse me if I’m still crying. When we see the direct results of this horrible crime of expulsion against us now visited on the entire people of Israel, of course I cry. When I recall that our rabbis and political leaders worked with the government to commit this crime, yes I cry. When I recall that our soldiers and police chose to carry out this crime, I cry. And today I cry as I see innocent Israelis left without food and water in bomb shelters. And when our young soldiers are killed and wounded, I cry.
When we begged, pleaded and warned the Jewish world that this is what will eventually happen if we are expelled, we were met with indifference. The Jews would not listen to us. Today they rush to raise money for the refugees of the north huddled in their shelters. Monies that will largely disappear into organizational coffers as did most of the funds raised for us.
To those who criticize my outcry, my “whining”, my despair, please understand I do it for you, the next victims of Islamic hatred. The Sudden Jihad Syndrome shooting in Seattle will be repeated many times over.
No more prizes to our enemies! No Convergence Plan!! At stake is not the survival of Judea and Samaria. At stake is the survival of Israel. At stake is the survival of our world.”
And the forthright courageous journalist Ari Shavit wrote in Ha’aretz August 13th 2006:
“A simple thing happened: We were drugged by political correctness. The political correctness that has come to dominate Israeli discourse and Israeli awareness in the past generation was totally divorced from the Israeli situation. It did not have the tools to deal with the reality of an existential conflict. It did not have the tools to deal with a reality of an inter-religious and inter-cultural conflict. That is why it focused entirely on the Palestinian issue. It made the baseless assumption that the occupation is the source of evil. It assumed that it is the occupation that is preventing peace and causing unrest and perpetuating the instability.
On the other hand, the Israeli elites of the past 20 years have become totally divorced from reality. The capital, the media and the academic world of the 1990s and the first decade of the 21st century, have blinded Israel and deprived it of its spirit. Their repeated illusions regarding the historical reality in which the Jewish state finds itself, caused Israel to make a navigational error and to lose its way. Their unending attacks, both direct and indirect, on nationalism, on militarism and on the Zionist narrative have eaten away from the inside at the tree trunk of Israeli existence, and sucked away its life force. While the general public demonstrated sobriety, determination and energy, the elites were a disappointment.
Instead of being constructive elites, in the past generation the Israeli elites have become dismantling elites. Each in its own area, each by its own method, dealt with the deconstruction of the Zionism enterprise. Step by step, the top 1000th percentiles abandoned the existential national effort.
They stopped doing reserve duty, they stopped sending their sons to the fighting units. They mocked those officers who warned about unilateral withdrawals. They mocked those officers who warned that the emergency warehouses were emptying out and the enemies were becoming stronger. And they deceived themselves and those around them that Tel Aviv is in fact Manhattan.
Israel tried with all its soul and all its might to be Athens. However in this place, in this era, there is no future for an Athens without a speck of Sparta. There is no hope for a society-of-life that does not know how to organize itself to deal with death. Therefore, after decades during which the right and the left and the center took Israeli power for granted and wastefully exploited it, now there is no escaping the need to place the renewed building of Israeli power at the top of the agenda. We are returning to the encounter with our fate; returning to what is decreed by the reality of our lives.”

Lebanon a victim? What a joke!
Before the Israeli attack, Lebanon no longer existed; it was no more than a hologram. At Beirut innocent citizens like myself were forbidden access to certain areas of their own capital. But our police, our army and our judges were also excluded. That was the case, for example, of Hezbollah's and the Syrians' command zone in the Haret Hreik quarter . A square measuring a kilometer wide, a capital within the capital, permanently guarded by a Horla army, possessing its own institutions, its schools, its crèches, its tribunals, its radio, its television and, above all_ its government. A "government" that, alone decided, in the place of the figureheads of the Lebanese government - in which Hezbollah also had its ministers! - to attack a neighboring state, with which we had no substantial or grounded quarrel, and to plunge US into a bloody conflict. And if attacking a sovereign nation on its territory, assassinating eight of its soldiers, kidnapping two others and, simultaneously, launching missiles on nine of its towns does not constitute a casus belli, the latter juridical principle will seriously need revising.
Thus almost all of these cowardly politicians, including numerous shiah leaders and religious personalities themselves, are blessing each bomb that falls from a Jewish F-16 turning the insult to our sovereignty that was Haret Hreik, right in the heart of Beirut, into a lunar landscape. Without the Israelis, how could we have received another chance - that we in no way deserve! - to rebuild our country?
Like the overwhelming majority of Lebanese, I pray that no one puts an end to the Israeli attack before it finishes shattering the terrorists. I pray that the Hebrew soldiers will penetrate all the hidden recesses of southern Lebanon and will hunt out, in our stead, the vermin that has taken root there.
I will end this all with a very serious and alarming quote from another Arab Youseef Ibrahim on August 7th, 2006.
“For years, Israel claimed that its survival was at stake, surrounded as it was by Arab armies. In fact, it had already destroyed each of them, in a matter of days. Now, however, anyone can see that Israel is indeed facing an existential threat - call it death by a thousand paper cuts. Israel's economy and a million of its citizens in the north cannot survive a war of attrition. Unless it is reinstituted with extreme ferocity, Israel's aura of invincibility will give way to a feeding frenzy of Jihadi sharks and the collapse of a peacefully inclined but weak Lebanese government.
The apocalyptic scenario of an enemy within and a Shiite militia without comes with impressive numbers to back it up. Together with Hezbollah's sister Lebanese Shiite militia, Amal, and 1 million Shiites in Lebanon, Iraq and Iran's combined Shiite population of 100 million looms large. This huge force is poised to fight foes selected by the Hezbollah leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, and his masters.
I am not an alarmist, just an egoist. For after these jihadi hordes finish their work in Lebanon and Iraq, they'll come for the rest of us: moderate Arabs, secular Arabs, Christian Arabs, Kurds, Armenians, Druze, and eventually the Sunni Muslims (whom they are already cutting to pieces in Iraq).
In this "Spartacus"-like Shiite uprising, which began with the Iranian Revolution of 1979, those hanging on crosses all the way to the gates of Rome will be all the non-jihadists among us. This time around, the barbarians at the gate aren't just coming for the Jews, but also for what is left of Arab secularism and liberal Islam. That, again, is why a cease-fire will not do.”
If we were to affix red pins to wherever jihadists are operating today on a map of the Middle East, red would be the color of Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Algeria, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. So, once again, a cease-fire will not do.
If the mythology of Hezbollah survives the war in Lebanon without a demonstrable humiliation or defeat, the notion will spread that jihadists don't need armies, just some fighters and a bit of momentum.
That momentum has spread to Al Qaeda, which is now rallying to Hezbollah's side, as well as Hamas; the Muslim Brotherhoods of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria; Iran's mullahs, and all the jihadi franchises around the world. This is why a cease-fire will not do in the Israel-Hezbollah war.”
What can one add to all these words of outrage and of sorrow? I feel like crying like Jeremiah: “O my soul, my soul I am pained in my very heart. My heart makes a noise in me. I cannot hold my peace, because You have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.” Jeremiah 4:19

Outcry over Lebanon
Shock, anger and disappointment were felt by many inside and outside Israel – by Israel-loving Jews and Israel-loving Christians – at the unsatisfactory and premature outcome of Israel’s latest war.
The nation has been severely shaken, and a process has already begun that could well lead to a new political and military change of direction, possibly even a change in Israel’s government.
Many people, among them Lebanese – especially that country’s real Christians who have suffered for years from the Hizbollah and other Muslim extremists occupying their country – are also deeply disappointed in the half-baked outcome of this recent war.
To give you a glimpse of the feelings and opinions, chiefly Israeli and Lebanese, I have listed some of the most remarkable heartfelt outcries expressed by them:
Joseph Farah writes (in WorldNetDaily, August 2006)
“When Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Liberation Organization tried to take over the country and make it his terrorist playground, nobody cared.
When people were dying by the thousands in the civil war, nobody cared.
When Syria had its boot on the neck of its tiny neighbor for 25 years, nobody cared.
When Iran dispatched Hezbollah terrorists into the country to undermine home rule by Lebanese, nobody cared.
When Muslims chased millions of Christians from the country, tipping the balance of power, nobody cared.
But now, all eyes are on Lebanon.
Do you know why?
Because Israel has tried to clean up this hornet's nest. Yet all we hear about is how many Lebanese are dying.
The whole world is going nuts over this "slaughter."
Does any of this make sense?
Do you think those screaming about the bloodshed in Lebanon really give a hoot about Lebanon? If so, where have they been for the last 30 years?
Why is Lebanon the top story in every newscast? Why is Lebanon on the front page of every newspaper? Don't you get the impression that the violence there is probably worse than anywhere else on the planet from this focus?
Clearly it is not.
And the only difference is who's doing the butt kicking in Lebanon.
As for me, an American of Lebanese and Syrian heritage, I don't want to see a "cease-fire." I want to see Lebanon freed of the terrorist blight, once and for all. I want to see Lebanon freed from domination by Iran and Syria. I want to see Lebanon be Lebanon. I don't want to see Lebanon suffer for another 30 years. It's time to clean up the mess and allow this poor, little country to heal.
And that means getting rid of the disease of Hezbollah – now.”
And the courageous Brigitte Gabriel, a Christian Lebanese writes:
“While the world protected the PLO withdrawing from Lebanon in 1983 with Israel hot on their heels, another more volatile and religiously idealistic organization was being born: Hezbollah, "the Party of Allah," founded by Ayatollah Khomeini and financed by Iran. It was Hezbollah who blew up the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon in October, 1983 killing 241 Americans and 67 French paratroopers that same day. President Reagan ordered U.S. Multilateral Force units to withdraw and closed the books on the marine massacre and US involvement in Lebanon February 1984.
The civilized world, which erroneously vilified the Christians and Israel back then and continues to vilify Israel now, was not paying attention. While America and the rest of the world were concerned about the Israeli /PLO problem, terrorist regimes in Syria and Iran fanned Islamic radicalism in Lebanon and around the world. Hezbollah's Shiite extremists began multiplying like proverbial rabbits, out-producing moderate Sunnis and Christians. Twenty-five years later they have produced enough people to vote themselves into 24 seats in the Lebanese parliament. Since the Israeli pullout in 2000, Lebanon has become a terrorist base completely run and controlled by Syria with its puppet Lebanese President Lahood and the Hezbollah "state within a state."
The Lebanese army has less than 10,000 military troops. Hezbollah has over 4,000 trained militia forces and there are approximately 700 Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Southern Lebanon and the Beka’a Valley. So why can't the army do the job? Because the majority of Lebanese Muslims making up the army will split and unite along religious lines with the Islamic forces just like what happened in 1976 at the start of the Lebanese civil war.
It all boils down to a war of Islamic Jihad ideology vs. Judeo Christian Westernism. Muslims, who are now the majority of Lebanon's population, support Hezbollah because they are part of the Islamic Ummah-the nation. This is the taboo subject everyone is trying to avoid. The latest attacks on Israel have been orchestrated by Iran and Syria driven by two different interests. Syria considers Lebanon a part of "greater" Syria. Young Syrian President Assad and his Ba'athist military intelligence henchmen in
Damascus are using this latest eruption of violence to prove to the Lebanese that they need the Syrian presence to protect them from the Israeli aggression and to stabilize the country. Iran is conveniently using its Lebanese puppet army Hezbollah, to distract the attention of world leaders meeting at the G-8 summit in St. Petersburg, from its pursuit of nuclear weapons. Apocalyptic Iranian President Ahmadinejad and the ruling Mullah clerics in Tehran want to assert hegemony in the Islamic world under the banner of Shia Mahdist madness. Ahmadinejad wants to seal his place as top Jihadist for Allah by make good his promise to “wipe Israel off the map.”
No matter how much the west avoids facing the reality of Islamic extremism of the Middle East, the west cannot hide from the fact that the same Hamas and Hezbollah that Israel is fighting over there, are of the same radical Islamic ideology that has fomented carnage and death through terrorism that America and the world are fighting. This is the same Hezbollah that Iran is threatening to unleash in America with suicide bomb attacks if America tries to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapon. They have cells in over 10 cities in the United States. Hamas, has the largest terrorist infrastructure on American soil. This is what happens when you turn a blind eye to evil for decades, hoping it will go away.”
Suzy Goldy insightfully writes:
“It has been a continual downhill fall, from their fundamentally flawed Oslo Plan to the dances of Arafat, to giving weapons to the Palestinians to getting out of Lebanon and allowing Hezbollah to arm for years with 12,000 missiles, to getting out of Gaza while uprooting and abusing peaceful Jewish Farmers and on and on until their incompetent handling of the current war with Hezbollah.
It is unbelievable but it has taken the Israeli Leftists and intellectuals over 55 years of wars, terror attacks and Oslo to finally realize the Arabs mean what they say – that they want to destroy (D-E-S-T-R-O-Y) Israel!!! Even Amos Oz and the “Peace Now” think-tanks finally get it!!!!”
Rachel and Moshe Saperstein formerly from Neve Dekalim in Gush Katif write:
“Moshe and I have the remains of a Kassam rocket which exploded near our home in Neve Dekalim. The words Al Kuds were printed on its tail fins. Al Kuds is Arabic for Jerusalem. The message is quite clear. The war was not about Gush Katif. It was about Jerusalem. Just as the war in the north is not about Lebanon. It is a war to destroy Israel. Last year the people of Israel and Jews from abroad chose to ignore the message. They let Gush Katif fall. Today our country is in ruins.
Last week a plot to destroy airliners from Britain to the United States was foiled. The message is clear. The war, of which ours is a part, is of the east determined to destroy the west. The west chooses to ignore the message. Just as Gush Katif led straight to Lebanon, so the war against Israel will lead straight to the war against the west.
While the war rages in the north, we have been receiving signals that Syria is stockpiling huge quantities of weapons along its border with Israel. The weapons are deadlier and have a longer range. Yet our prime minister still speaks of his ‘convergence’ plan to remove 100,000 Jews from Judea and Samaria and to give our Biblical homeland to our enemies, bringing the heartland of the country into the range of enemy weapons. Win or lose, the Arabs win.
Is it any wonder that we, the refugees of Gush Katif, are still angry, hurt, bewildered and horrified by the results of our expulsion?
Excuse me if I’m still crying. When we see the direct results of this horrible crime of expulsion against us now visited on the entire people of Israel, of course I cry. When I recall that our rabbis and political leaders worked with the government to commit this crime, yes I cry. When I recall that our soldiers and police chose to carry out this crime, I cry. And today I cry as I see innocent Israelis left without food and water in bomb shelters. And when our young soldiers are killed and wounded, I cry.
When we begged, pleaded and warned the Jewish world that this is what will eventually happen if we are expelled, we were met with indifference. The Jews would not listen to us. Today they rush to raise money for the refugees of the north huddled in their shelters. Monies that will largely disappear into organizational coffers as did most of the funds raised for us.
To those who criticize my outcry, my “whining”, my despair, please understand I do it for you, the next victims of Islamic hatred. The Sudden Jihad Syndrome shooting in Seattle will be repeated many times over.
No more prizes to our enemies! No Convergence Plan!! At stake is not the survival of Judea and Samaria. At stake is the survival of Israel. At stake is the survival of our world.”
And the forthright courageous journalist Ari Shavit wrote in Ha’aretz August 13th 2006:
“A simple thing happened: We were drugged by political correctness. The political correctness that has come to dominate Israeli discourse and Israeli awareness in the past generation was totally divorced from the Israeli situation. In the second week of July 2006, Arab Knesset member Talab El-Sana told the Israeli press:
“The war in Lebanon is an American war. Israel is nothing more than a US subcontractor, doing America's work in the Middle East. The United States is using Israelis and Lebanese to further its own ends. The US has nullified Israel's ability to make independent decisions.”
Could the war in Lebanon had more to do with protecting oil pipelines and America’s geo-strategic goals than Hezbollah shooting rockets into northern Israel?
A Canadian economics professor thinks so.
“Virtually unnoticed, the inauguration of the Ceyhan-Tblisi-Baku (BTC) oil pipeline, which links the Caspian sea to the Eastern Mediterranean, took place on the 13th of July, at the very outset of the Israeli sponsored bombings of Lebanon,” Michel Chossudovsky, of the University of Ottawa and Director of the Center for Research on Globalization.
One day before the Israeli air strikes, the main partners and shareholders of the BTC pipeline project, including several heads of State and oil company executives were in attendance at the port of Ceyhan. They were then rushed off for an inauguration reception in Istanbul, hosted by Turkey's President Ahmet Necdet Sezer in the plush surroundings of the Çýraðan Palace. Also in attendance was British Petroleum's (BP) CEO, Lord Browne together with senior government officials from Britain, the US and Israel, including . Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. BP leads the BTC pipeline consortium. Other major Western shareholders include Chevron, Conoco-Phillips, France's Total and Italy's ENI.”
OK, just a coincidence, right?
Chossudovsky doesn’t think so. He claims that what is important about the BTC pipeline it that it bypasses the territory of the Russian Federation. It transits through the former Soviet republics of Azerbaijan and Georgia, both of which have become US "protectorates", who are already in a military alliance with the US and NATO. Moreover, both Azerbaijan and Georgia have longstanding military cooperation agreements with Israel.
“There are strategic objectives underlying the Lebanon war which are tied to oil and oil pipelines,” he points out. “By bypassing Russia, Russia has been weakened. Now, Israel is slated to play a major strategic role in "protecting" the Eastern Mediterranean transport and pipeline corridors out of Ceyhan. Also, Israel will increase dramatically the import of oil from the Caspian sea.
Chossudovsky, , whose international best seller "The Globalization of Poverty " has been published in eleven languages, insists that the bombing of Lebanon is part of a carefully planned and coordinated military road map and that the next stage of the war which would include attacks against Iran and Syria- are already in the works by Israeli and American military planners which will be done on behalf of oil interests- not because of any need to bolster Israel’s security. The end result is Israeli territorial control over the East Mediterranean coastline. With this pipeline, the Eastern Mediterranean will now have an “energy corridor”, as Chossudovsky calls it, to the Caspian sea basin. What is important to remember is that all of the participants in the pipeline are US allies- including Israel, Turkey, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.”
For Israel, Chossudovsky’s conclusions are chilling: Israel is now part of what he says is “an Anglo-American military axis which serves the interests of the Western oil giants in the Middle East and Central Asia.”

The end result will likely be the US insisting that US or Israeli troops be stationed along this shoreline- not to protect the pipeline- but to “ensure regional stability”.

While the official reports state that the BTC pipeline will "channel oil to Western markets", Chossudovsky says that the guts of the deal will be that oil from the Caspian sea would be directly channelled towards Israel. An underwater Israeli-Turkish pipeline project would link Ceyhan in Turkey to the Israeli port of Ashkelon (a distance of 400 km) and then through an existing pipeline between Ashkelon and Eilat which was shut down in the late 70s after the fall of the Shah and the loss of Iranian oil.
Economically, a deal like this would be a major long term benefit to Israel’s energy economy. As it can be assumed the price of oil will continue to rise- if Israel can be guarantee a reasonable price for its oil and gas in the way of a 30- 50 year supply contract- it would not only make the cost of acquiring Israel’s energy resources much more cheaper and efficient, but also Israeli economic planners could better plan decades in advance for Israel’s needs if the country knew the amount and supply the economy had guaranteed access to for decades to come.
Also involved in this project is a pipeline to bring water to Israel, pumping water from upstream resources of the Tigris and Euphrates river system in Anatolia. Yet another huge benefit for Israel. Chussudovsky reports that in April 2006, Israel and Turkey announced plans for four underwater pipelines, which would bypass Syrian and Lebanese territory

The downside of the deal?
Chossudovsky contends that Moscow has responded to the US-Israeli-Turkish design to militarize the East Mediterranean coastline with plans to establish a Russian naval base in the Syrian port of Tartus: A naval base in Tartus will enable Russia to solidify its positions in the Middle East and ensure security of Syria. Moscow intends to deploy an air defense system around the base - to provide air cover for the base itself and a substantial part of Syrian territory. (S-300PMU-2 Favorit systems will not be turned over to the Syrians. They will be manned and serviced by Russian personnel.)
“Moreover, Moscow and Damascus have reached an agreement on the modernization of Syria's air defenses as well as a program in support to its ground forces, the modernization of its MIG-29 fighters as well as its submarines- as was reported in Kommerzant, on 2 June 2006. In the context of an escalating conflict, these developments have far-reaching implications.”
Professor Chossudovsky points out that these underwater pipeline routes do not overtly encroach on the territorial sovereignty of Lebanon and Syria. On the other hand, the development of alternative land based corridors (for oil and water) through Lebanon and Syria would require Israeli-Turkish territorial control over the Eastern Mediterranean coastline through Lebanon and Syria. The implementation of a land-based corridor, as opposed to the underwater pipeline project, would require the militarization of the East Mediterranean coastline, extending from the port of Ceyhan across Syria and Lebanon to the Lebanese-Israeli border.

In the second week of July 2006, Arab Knesset member Talab El-Sana told the Israeli press:
“The war in Lebanon is an American war. Israel is nothing more than a US subcontractor, doing America's work in the Middle East. The United States is using Israelis and Lebanese to further its own ends. The US has nullified Israel's ability to make independent decisions.”
Could the war in Lebanon had more to do with protecting oil pipelines and America’s geo-strategic goals than Hezbollah shooting rockets into northern Israel?
A Canadian economics professor thinks so.
“Virtually unnoticed, the inauguration of the Ceyhan-Tblisi-Baku (BTC) oil pipeline, which links the Caspian sea to the Eastern Mediterranean, took place on the 13th of July, at the very outset of the Israeli sponsored bombings of Lebanon,” Michel Chossudovsky, of the University of Ottawa and Director of the Center for Research on Globalization.
One day before the Israeli air strikes, the main partners and shareholders of the BTC pipeline project, including several heads of State and oil company executives were in attendance at the port of Ceyhan. They were then rushed off for an inauguration reception in Istanbul, hosted by Turkey's President Ahmet Necdet Sezer in the plush surroundings of the Çýraðan Palace. Also in attendance was British Petroleum's (BP) CEO, Lord Browne together with senior government officials from Britain, the US and Israel, including . Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. BP leads the BTC pipeline consortium. Other major Western shareholders include Chevron, Conoco-Phillips, France's Total and Italy's ENI.”
OK, just a coincidence, right?
Chossudovsky doesn’t think so. He claims that what is important about the BTC pipeline it that it bypasses the territory of the Russian Federation. It transits through the former Soviet republics of Azerbaijan and Georgia, both of which have become US "protectorates", who are already in a military alliance with the US and NATO. Moreover, both Azerbaijan and Georgia have longstanding military cooperation agreements with Israel.
“There are strategic objectives underlying the Lebanon war which are tied to oil and oil pipelines,” he points out. “By bypassing Russia, Russia has been weakened. Now, Israel is slated to play a major strategic role in "protecting" the Eastern Mediterranean transport and pipeline corridors out of Ceyhan. Also, Israel will increase dramatically the import of oil from the Caspian sea.
Chossudovsky, , whose international best seller "The Globalization of Poverty " has been published in eleven languages, insists that the bombing of Lebanon is part of a carefully planned and coordinated military road map and that the next stage of the war which would include attacks against Iran and Syria- are already in the works by Israeli and American military planners which will be done on behalf of oil interests- not because of any need to bolster Israel’s security. The end result is Israeli territorial control over the East Mediterranean coastline. With this pipeline, the Eastern Mediterranean will now have an “energy corridor”, as Chossudovsky calls it, to the Caspian sea basin. What is important to remember is that all of the participants in the pipeline are US allies- including Israel, Turkey, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.”
For Israel, Chossudovsky’s conclusions are chilling: Israel is now part of what he says is “an Anglo-American military axis which serves the interests of the Western oil giants in the Middle East and Central Asia.”

Realists are not racists!
It is an UNDENIABLE FACT that white people have contributed far more to world civilization than any other race. According to my understanding a "racist" would say such creative/intellectual superiority is inherent. At this point, until proven otherwise, I believe it is not inherent but results from contact with our Great Creator God, as the white Israelites have been chosen to be the Servant Nation and bless all mankind (which, generally speaking, we have done) and are unique in this regard. Due to such a special calling, we have been inspired, blessed, because we're the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

John Mervin: Risingsun, Ohio Pioneer
JOHN MERVIN, one of the early settlers at the site of the present town of Risingsun, is a highly respected resident of that place. Like many of the prosperous and influential men of the day, he has made his way to success through adverse circumstances, and his well-won competence reflects credit upon him.
He is of English birth, having entered upon his mortal career in Leicestershire, January 11, 1824. His father, Thomas Mervin, was a butcher by trade. Our subject was reared upon a farm, near a small village, enjoying only the limited advantages of the common schools. He showed ability in the management and care of horses, and at an early age found employment in that work; but the opportunities for advancement seemed to him discouraging, and he determined to come to America. Leaving his young wife, formerly Miss Elizabeth Riley, he sailed from Liverpool, in April, 1849, in the ship “Joseph Badger,” and after a voyage of four weeks landed in New York. The trip to Albany was made by river, from Albany to Buffalo by rail, and from Buffalo he came by lake to Sandusky, where he took the Mad River railroad, then the only one in this region. His destination was Avon township, Lorain county, but by mistake he went to New Haven, Huron county. On learning his error he started on foot for Lorain county, but while en route he was taken very ill in Greenfield township, Huron county, and was cared for by some friendly English people. On his recovery he had but fifty cents left of the sum which he had saved from his earnings for his journey, and a new start in life. This money was spent for wine to stimulate his impaired energies, and instead of going on, he decided to remain there and rent a farm.
In the spring of 1850 his wife rejoined him. She had a difficult voyage, spending four months on the way, and being shipwrecked three times. They lived there for several years, renting different farms in the locality, but in the fall of 1863 they came to Wood county, driving through in a wagon. Mr. Mervin purchased sixty acres of land in Section 36, Montgomery township, where the village of Risingsun now stands. At that time the land was partially improved in the dry portion and a plank house stood near his present home. The swamply part of the farm had to be cleared, however, and there was no small amount of hard work to be done in the first years of his stay; but the rapid development of the locality brought prosperity. He still owns seventy acres of land in the vicinity, and also has ten acres in Jackson township, Seneca county. In 1877 he built a fine residence in Risingsun, which he has since occupied. Mrs. Mervin's death, December 9, 1888, brought deep sorrow to this pleasant home. her remains are interred in Trinity cemetery, Scott township, Sandusky county. They had nine children, all of whom are living: Sarah, Mrs. George Young, of Seneca county; Mary, Mrs. Adam Graber, of Risingsun; George, a farmer in Perry township; Elizabeth, Mrs. Frank Blonde, of Perry township; Eliza and Lucy, who are at home; Frances, Mrs. Benjamin Bates, of Risingsun; Anna, Mrs. Courtland Essex, of the same town, and Hattie, Mrs. Russell Hoover [my great grandmother], of Montgomery township.
Mr. Mervin's parents came to the United States in 1855 or '56, and located in Greenwich township, Huron county, where his father died at the age of seventy-three years. His mother afterward made her home in Wood county with her children, but died in Richland county at ninety years of age. Mr. Mervin is the eldest of six children, all living. Thomas resides in Risingsun; George, in Longley; Elizabeth is the widow of James Brinson, of Huron county; Hannah married John Thompson, of Richland county, and Emma married first the late John Jenney, and second John Winder, of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Mr. Mervin possessed in youth a powerful physique, and is still well-preserved, his strictly temperate habits being in his favor. Fond of reading, he has intelligent views on the questions of the time, and his interest in the education of the rising generation has led to several years of able service as school director. In principle he is a Democrat, but is not bound by partisan ties in the choice of suitable men for local offices. He is a leading member of the M.E. Church.

We finished a quiet Sabbath in the relative safety of
Jerusalem, only to check the news and find out the
heartbreaking news that seven more Israeli soldiers have
been killed and eight-four injured in the worst-led war in Israel's history.
In addition, the government who interfered with the
military (i.e.go win the war without upsetting CNN and the
BBC), imposing guidelines that have helped get not only our
boys killed left and right, but our civilians as well, has
now decided to accept a Security Council resolution which
ensures that Israel's soldiers and her people have made
their ultimate sacrifice for nothing: our kidnapped soldiers
will not be returned. Hezbollah will not be disarmed. And
Israeli forces will be replaced by some U.N. force and a
bunch of European anti-Semites who will allow Hezbollah to
rearm.

So far, 1,784 Israelis have responded. The overwhelming
majority have this to say:
We went to war to free our kidnapped soldiers. Why aren't
they mentioned?
For shame.
Olmert, Peretz, Halutz, the triumvirate of losers.
Let me add this: Mr. Olmert, Mr. Peretz, Mr. Halutz: You
have squandered the lives of our soldiers. You have
squandered our opportunity to free the nation of Israel from
a deadly enemy. You have set the stage for the next war.
By September, we will be under attack once more. Do the
decent thing: Resign, all of you, and let Mr. Netanyahu,
General Alon (who was kicked out because he
refused to go along with the disengagement) take over.
Resign Mr. Olmert. Resign in shame for your incompetence.
Your inability to carry out a single one of the objectives
you so stirringly announced at the beginning of this war.
With all of you and your incompetent Kadima-led government out of
office, we will all be safer and better prepared when the
rockets start to fall once again, as they inevitably will
with the U.N. and the French guarding our borders.
And if you won't do the honorable thing, we will do
everything we can to get you fired. You make me sick. I am
ashamed to be a citizen of my country under your
leadership. I am appalled to have a son in the IDF under
your leadership. For shame, for shame, for shame!

Tony Blair's speech concedes defeat
Tony Blair revealed, in his speech to the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, he just doesn't get it (or is at least ordered to appear that way like President Bush). The war on terrorism is a war against Nazi-Muslims, plain and simple.
It is not our duty to try and convert those nations to our "values" (doesn't he realize our values, dangerously adrift from our biblical moorings, is what alienates many of the faithful among Islam?). We are called to serve as a "city on a hill," a light to all the nations, a model nation others seek to emulate not immolate!
Contrary to humanist ideas, spreading democracy is not our holy mission. Democracy is not the gospel. It has worked relatively well among our Israelite family of nations with our disposition, but generally fails among those who aren't so inclined to it, who don't share our proclivity for it, as is their prerogative. We're trying to scrub the spots off the leopard and it just won't work!

Blair kept bleating about "values change" rather than regime change, and such a "banner" is blown to bits daily by those who don't share or want our values, resisting the forced conversion which the Muslim world correctly see as a new crusade. However, it is not yet a Catholic crusade (will a nuclear jihad against Vienna or Berlin provoke a rapid response from the EU?), and it certainly isn't a Christian crusade - although some embers of biblical influence remain despite the floodgates of hell that have waged war against them, our "values" that have systematically sought to squelch and substitute them with evolution, humanism and relativism - it is a SECULAR CRUSADE, a serious conflict of interests, a culture clash.
This is not just about security or military tactics. It is about hearts and minds about inspiring people, persuading them, showing them what our values at their best stand for.
"War is hell" - not a group hug or liberal classroom! We lost the war when we became entangled in the world of ideas and attitudes rather than stay focused on taking out a hostile regime and leaving Iraq to do whatever Iraq wanted to do - civil war or not. Otherwise we should clear out the area of Arabs and claim it for the British-Israelites, Joes (Joseph isn't Jewish!), as it is part of Greater Israel to the Euphrates, and open it up like the Wild West, offering incentives to pioneers willing to move there and stake out claims. (Besides, we're still in the process of nation building here at home, with many improvements needed and changes necessary. Charity begins at home. Cut off our entangling alliances and bring our troops and money home! Why shouldn't taxpayers money be spent in America - not overseas by foreigners who hate us and would dance in the streets if we fell tomorrow?).
If the Iraqis "elected" to choose another hostile regime making serious threats against us, we could take out that dictator too. We didn't defeat the Japanese or Germans by trying to impress them with our "values" or self-restraint. We fought and won the war and didn't worry about disproportionate use of force or civilian casualties, knowing our enemies are responsible for such and must be held accountable. They started the war, we finished it.

Ehud Olmert Playing with German Fire
The Israeli newspaper HaAretz reports:
Olmert: I hope Germany sends peacekeepers to South Lebanon
Can you believe it? Asking the fox to guard the chicken house! God must have struck Israel with madness to destroy them, as national repentance doesn't appear any more forthcoming among Judah than in our British-Israelite countries, grieved to say.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is playing with strange fire and it will soon scorch all Israel. Olmert is inviting disaster by enticing foreign troops to make their move into the Middle East. The end result, leading us near extinction as Jerusalem ignites WWIII, will demand divine intervention to rescue Israel and save the world from the fascist EU.
PM Olmert gushed to Suddeutsche Zeitung, the German daily newspaper, that he would welcome the rush of German soldiers in a stabilization force to occupy South Lebanon, vainly imagining that he will survive the flood of foreigners with their eyes on Jerusalem (Isaiah 28:14-18). Such Roman wolves in sheep's clothing will do anything but stabilize the region, as Germany leads the pack to the Temple Mount under orders from the bloody Vatican under ruse of UN Resolution 181 (Daniel 11:40-45).
"I have informed (German) Chancellor Angela Merkel that we have absolutely no problem having German troops in South Lebanon."
Such a comment either exposes Olmert's woeful ignorance of both the Bible and history, or his filthy collaboration with the dark forces that control Kadima, foolishly thinking he can sell out Israeli sovereignty to an extent and not lose control in the treacherous process, like Shimon Peres, the darling of the Vatican and French whore and German lapdog.
"There is no other nation that Israel considers more of a friend that Germany ... I would be very happy if Germany participated," he said.
How out of touch with reality can the man be? Israelis should oust Olmert on grounds of insanity, if not treason, and take down the whole corrupt government with him before it implodes Israel.
Germans opposed to German troops along the Israeli border express legitimate concerns it would offend Holocaust survivors and make it practically impossible for German troops to act impartially if they felt obliged to act against Israel.
However, the ostrich Olmert questioned: "Why would German troops need to fire at Israelis for? They would be part of a force operating to defend Israel. There is no nation acting in a friendlier manner towards Israel than Germany," he said.
American taxpayers would surely disagree that Germany is a greater friend than the United States! (And when the UNJews gave weapons to the PLO and those in their right mind warned against arming sworn enemies playing peace partners, they were told such "weapons of peace" would not be used against Israelis, and now how many "victims of peace" has Israel suffered?).
Will the Israelis increasingly rely more on German economic aid ("incentives", bribes and lying guarantees of "peace and security") as bankrupt America feels the pinch (but still refuses to wake up to harsh reality that we're soon going to be put into receivership by Europe)? Isn't the United States encouraging Germany to take over greater responsibilities, and trusting them to lead Europe? The silly Israeli dove will end up in the belly of the German beast! (Hosea 5:13, 7:11). They're falling into a trap from which they won't recover, short of many miracles. Germany is no savior!
Ehud Olmert, a puppet, a prostitute, a toy to the abominable Israeli oligarchy, is seriously undermining Israeli sovereignty and harming the interests of the United States, endangering our national security, as goaded by our own traitors.

Such Roman wolves in sheep's clothing will do anything but stabilize the region, as Germany leads the pack to the Temple Mount under orders from the bloody Vatican under ruse of UN Resolution 181 (Daniel 11:40-45).

Such a comment either exposes Olmert's woeful ignorance of both the Bible and history, or his filthy collaboration with the dark forces that control Kadima, foolishly thinking he can sell out Israeli sovereignty to an extent and not lose control in the treacherous process, like Shimon Peres, the darling of the Vatican and French whore and German lapdog.
"There is no other nation that Israel considers more of a friend that Germany ... I would be very happy if Germany participated," he said.
How out of touch with reality can the man be? Israelis should oust Olmert on grounds of insanity, if not treason, and take down the whole corrupt government with him before it implodes Israel.
Germans opposed to German troops along the Israeli border express legitimate concerns it would offend Holocaust survivors and make it practically impossible for German troops to act impartially if they felt obliged to act against Israel.
However, the ostrich Olmert questioned: "Why would German troops need to fire at Israelis for? They would be part of a force operating to defend Israel. There is no nation acting in a friendlier manner towards Israel than Germany," he said.
American taxpayers would surely disagree that Germany is a greater friend than the United States! (And when the UNJews gave weapons to the PLO and those in their right mind warned against arming sworn enemies playing peace partners, they were told such "weapons of peace" would not be used against Israelis, and now how many "victims of peace" has Israel suffered?).
Will the Israelis increasingly rely more on German economic aid ("incentives", bribes and lying guarantees of "peace and security") as bankrupt America feels the pinch (but still refuses to wake up to harsh reality that we're soon going to be put into receivership by Europe)? Isn't the United States encouraging Germany to take over greater responsibilities, and trusting them to lead Europe? The silly Israeli dove will end up in the belly of the German beast! (Hosea 5:13, 7:11). They're falling into a trap from which they won't recover, short of many miracles. Germany is no savior!

Jews Must Demand Rights to Temple Mount
During a 1995 Root and Branch lecture in Jerusalem, Professor Nahum Rakover, author and then Deputy Attorney General of Israel, publicly agreed with me that it isn't illegal for Christians or Jews to pray upon the Temple Mount, even though it is forcibly prevented by the police.
I had expressed the frustration we (the Temple Mount Faithful and thankfully, now, many others) feel when we follow the law, receive the necessary police permits for our legal demonstrations, and even obtain written Supreme Court approval of our actions, only to be denied "freedom of access" to our most holy site, the Temple Mount, and to be harshly treated with contempt for even trying to exercise our democratic rights!
I asked Deputy Attorney General Rakover why the Israeli government was, in effect, encouraging folks to act outside of the law (which they know we've never done, unlike other groups who feel why bother wasting your time trying to reason with corrupt officials), as well as rewarding militant Muslims for their terrorist threats of riots and violence (if Israel were to actually uphold their 1967 law that guarantees - in writing - "freedom of access" to the Temple Mount) and bizarrely punishing law-abiding people by denying them entry to the Temple Mount. Why not remove the threat? Isn't that logical? Isn't that legal?
Professor Nahum Rakover basically said that we're in this situation today because NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE WANT TO EXERCISE THEIR RIGHT to that religious site - the Temple Mount!
Why should Israel change the status quo when they're not under any pressure to do so? It's been said politicians don't see the light until they feel the heat. Shame on us! As I've written in a letter published in the Jerusalem Post, the Temple Mount isn't in our hands, because it's not in our hearts and minds.
I was later unjustly deported for highlighting the plight of the Temple Mount under Nazi-Muslim occupation within an article published throughout Jerusalem and Israel, calling for the restoration of the Temple Mount as the Temple Mount - a House of Prayer for All Peoples - which the High Court of Israel dismissed as dangerous ideas.
Why should Jews continue to pray at the Western Wall, a site designated by the Turks for Jewish worship instead of the Temple Mount, and continue to submit to such a Gentile decree rather than obey the biblical command to ascend the Temple Mount?
Why obey men over God? Isn't that idolatry? Isn't that immoral? Isn't God Israel's King, Israel's only Husband? Who are the nations to dictate what God's wife should do?
Why are Jews gathering at the pitiful Western Wall to mourn the destruction of the Temple? Do something constructive and DEMAND Jewish legal and biblical rights to the Temple Mount.
Thankfully, the Third Temple is coming soon!

June 27, 1967

Perhaps beginning in the next few hours, the closing hours of Tisha B'Av, or this evening, Motzei Tisha B'Av, late tonight or early tomorrow morning, but certainly in the next few days, paralleling the GUSH KATIF expulsion, day by day, Hezbollah missiles will start hitting TEL AVIV.
Ehud Olmert and HIS henchmen had THREE WEEKS, during this Three Week Mourning Period between 17 Tammuz and 9 Av, to PUBLICLY repent for the Zionist Entity's crimes and atrocities against its BEST PEOPLE, in GUSH KATIF. Not ONE WORD of repentance has been forthcoming from the U.S. president or a SINGLE member of the U.S. Congress.

Today, on the Ninth of Av, we REMEMBER the destruction of the First and Second Temples of Jerusalem, the Assyrian, Babylonian and Roman exiles, European Catholic Crusades, Spanish and Portuguese Catholic Inquisitions, Ukrainian Chmelnitzki massacres, Nazi German Jewish Genocide (Holocaust), the current Rosh HaShanah War/Philistine Chaos ["Palestine Authority"] Pogrom, and other tragedies that befell and are befalling the Jewish People.
We chant the words of the Book of Eicha (Lamentations), which begin:

WE LOOK FORWARD
Today, on the Ninth of Av, we also LOOK FORWARD to the fulfillment of the words of the Prophet Zechariah:

And the fast of the FIFTH, and the fast of the SEVENTH,
And the fast of the TENTH, shall be to the House of Judah joy and gladness,
And cheerful seasons; therefore love you truth and peace'".

Our sages explain that "the fast of the fifth" month "is the Ninth of Av, when the Temple was burnt":
[Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Rosh HaShanah 18b].
"Metzudath David explains that this prophesy [from Zechariah] is for the future, when the above fast days observed by the House of Judah will be joyous occasions for Judah. The House of Israel [Lost Ten Tribes], however, will have its own festivals commemorating the days Israel fasted and mourned".

REESTABLISHMENT OF THE ISRAELITE BIBLICAL COMMONWEALTH
We look forward to the building of the Third and Final Bet HaMikdash (Temple) of Yerushaliyim and the reestablishment of a Torah-based government with its three branches: the Sanhedrin (Judicial Branch), Priesthood (Legislative Branch) and Davidic Monarchy (Executive Branch), all of which will have their offices on the Har HaBayit (Temple Mount) at the Bet HaMikdash (Temple) of Yerushaliyim.
FOUNDING OF THE AMERICAN BIBLICAL COMMONWEALTH
The Founding Fathers of the United States built the American Biblical Commonwealth on the model of the Ancient Israelite Commonwealth.
For America's Founding Fathers, the Constitution was their Written Torah, Capitol Hill was their Har HaBayit (Temple Mount), the Capitol Building was their Bet HaMikdash (Temple), the Supreme Court (Judicial Branch) was their Sanhedrin, the Congress (Legislative Branch) was their Priesthood, and the Presidency (Executive Branch) was their equivalent of the Davidic Monarchy (George Washington wisely declined the offer to make him first King of the new United States).
The UNPRECEDENTED economic, political, and military power with which the United States has been blessed, rests SOLELY on the basis of that SPIRITUAL POWER with which America's Founding Fathers infused the new nation, and which has been the heritage of millions of Bible-believing Americans for almost four hundred years, since the Puritan Pilgrim Fathers first set foot in the new land.
NO SUBSTITUTE FOR AMERICAN FAITH IN THE G-D OF ISRAEL
America must NEVER substitute for faith in the G-d of Israel, that faith which has sustained this great Bible-bae nation for almost four hundred years, a faith in the false, pagan gods of economic, political and military power -- THE gods of OIL -- as it has been counseled to do, for over fifty years since the establishment of the State of Israel, by America's false prophets, modern day equivalents of the false prophets of the Egyptian Pharaoh and those of the Babylonian Nebuchadnezzar.
America is sustained ENTIRELY by its spiritual oil wells which are found in the G-d of Israel, Who has brought the Children of Israel back to the Land of Israel. Those spiritual oil wells will ONLY be found in the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount of Yerushaliyim itself, NOT in the deserts of Arabia or the Persian Gulf.
AN AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY FOR AMERICA
America MUST move from the "even-handed" approach that has characterized its foreign policy towards Israel for over 50 years to a policy of UNCONDITIONAL, ABSOLUTE, NO-ANDS-IFS-OR-BUTS SUPPORT for heChildren of Israel in ALL of the Land of Israel.
This new foreign policy, an "American Foreign Policy for America", as one commentator calls it, must be based on American recognition of the Covenants: G-d's Noahide Covenant and Laws for all humanity and G-d's Three Covenants with Israel:
The PEOPLE Covenant (G-d chose the Children of Israel to be His People)
The TORAH Covenant (G-d gave His Torah to the Children of Israel)
The LAND Covenant (G-d gave the Land of Israel to the Children of Israel)
America's Founding Fathers believed in G-d. They feared G-d and respected His Covenants. Tragically, far too many of the Founding Fathers' descendents, who may be found among today's ruling American "elites", have forgotten them.
THOSE WHO FORGOT THE G-D OF AMERICA'S FOUNDING FATHERS
United States President Bush is this moment being advised by his own father, and his father's "friends", to forget the G-d of Their Fathers, who was the G-d of the Founding Fathers of America. That is the G-d of Israel.
If this process of forgetting happens, if America's false prophets will now convince the American President of today to be like the Egyptian Pharaoh of old -- "Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph" [Shemot/Exodus 1:8] -- this will not only bring more suffering to the Children of Israel in the Land of Israel. It will bring suffering to Americans, in America, as well.
SEVEN YEAR SHMITTAH (SABBATICAL YEAR) CYCLES OF THE OSLO DEATH PROCESS
We, the Children of Israel, have suffered enough during the First Seven Year Shmittah (Sabbatical Year) Cycle of the Oslo Death Process (1993-2000).
We are now suffering even more as we proceed into the Second Seven Year Shmitth
If the above mentioned process of forgetting the G-d of Israel in America happens (much of the rest of the world has long ago forgotten, assuming they ever remembered Him in the first place), NO NATION that oppresses Israel, or stands by while others oppress Israel, may consider itself safe from the scourges of biological, chemical and nuclear warfare; global warming, unprecedented plagues, famines, droughts, earthquakes, floods; city-killer size asteroids, meteorites and comets; social and political upheavals.
Not even America.
The nations of this world can have all the G-8 meetings they want at any local Seven Eleven, and U.N. meetings, such as the upcoming one to consider whether or not "Zionism is racism", while marching to Pretoria. It makes no difference whether these meetings will be held in a South African shantytown, "Third World" slum, or "First World" metroplis.
These nations would be well advised to heed the words of the Prophet Jeremiah, who proclaimed:
"Israel is the Lord's hallowed portion,
His first-fruits of the increase;
All that devour him shall be held guilty,
EVIL shall come on them, says the Lord".

FLOODS BY WATER, FLOODS BY FIRE
The last flood was by water. The next flood may be by (nuclear) fire. Israel is Noah's Ark in the coming flood. That is: the G-d of Israel spiritually, and the Land of Israel physically.
Every Jewish community outside of the Land of Israel is a Dunkirk waiting to be evacuated.
Those who are wise among the Children of Israel will pack their bags and come home NOW.
Those who are wise among the Gentiles will come quickly over to the winning side, which is the side of the G-d of Israel and His People, the Children of Israel.
"And the idols shall utterly pass away.
And men shall go into the caves of the rocks,
And into the holes of the earth,
From before the terror of the Lord,
And from the gloryf His majesty.
When He arises to shake mightily the earth.
In that day a man shall cast away
His idols of silver, and his idols of gold,

WE REMEMBER
Today, on the Ninth of Av, we REMEMBER the destruction of the First and Second Temples of Jerusalem, the Assyrian, Babylonian and Roman exiles, European Catholic Crusades, Spanish and Portuguese Catholic Inquisitions, Ukrainian Chmelnitzki massacres, Nazi German Jewish Genocide (Holocaust), the current Rosh HaShanah War/Philistine Chaos ["Palestine Authority"] Pogrom, and other tragedies that befell and are befalling the Jewish People.
We chant the words of the Book of Eicha (Lamentations), which begin:
"How does the city [Jerusalem] sit solitary, that was full of people!
How isse become as a widow! She that was great among the nations,
and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!"
[Eicha/Lamentations 1:1]
WE LOOK FORWARD
Today, on the Ninth of Av, we also LOOK FORWARD to the fulfillment of the words of the Prophet Zechariah:
"And the word of the Lord of Hosts came to me, saying:
Thus says the Lord of Hosts: The fast of the FOURTH month,
And the fast of the FIFTH, and the fast of the SEVENTH,
And the fast of the TENTH, shall be to the House of Judah joy and gladness,
And cheerful seasons; therefore love you truth and peace'".
[Zechariah 8:19]
Our sages explain that "the fast of the fifth" month "is the Ninth of Av, when the Temple was burnt":
[Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Rosh HaShanah 18b].
"Metzudath David explains that this prophesy [from Zechariah] is for the future, when the above fast days observed by the House of Judah will be joyous occasions for Judah. The House of Israel [Lost Ten Tribes], however, will have its own festivals commemorating the days Israel fasted and mourned".

REESTABLISHMENT OF THE ISRAELITE BIBLICAL COMMONWEALTH
We look forward to the building of the Third and Final Bet HaMikdash (Temple) of Yerushaliyim and the reestablishment of a Torah-based government with its three branches: the Sanhedrin (Judicial Branch), Priesthood (Legislative Branch) and Davidic Monarchy (Executive Branch), all of which will have their offices on the Har HaBayit (Temple Mount) at the Bet HaMikdash (Temple) of Yerushaliyim.
FOUNDING OF THE AMERICAN BIBLICAL COMMONWEALTH
The Founding Fathers of the United States built the American Biblical Commonwealth on the model of the Ancient Israelite Commonwealth.
For America's Founding Fathers, the Constitution was their Written Torah, Capitol Hill was their Har HaBayit (Temple Mount), the Capitol Building was their Bet HaMikdash (Temple), the Supreme Court (Judicial Branch) was their Sanhedrin, the Congress (Legislative Branch) was their Priesthood, and the Presidency (Executive Branch) was their equivalent of the Davidic Monarchy (George Washington wisely declined the offer to make him first King of the new United States).
The UNPRECEDENTED economic, political, and military power with which the United States has been blessed, rests SOLELY on the basis of that SPIRITUAL POWER with which America's Founding Fathers infused the new nation, and which has been the heritage of millions of Bible-believing Americans for almost four hundred years, since the Puritan Pilgrim Fathers first set foot in the new land.
NO SUBSTITUTE FOR AMERICAN FAITH IN THE G-D OF ISRAEL
America must NEVER substitute for faith in the G-d of Israel, that faith which has sustained this great Bible-bae nation for almost four hundred years, a faith in the false, pagan gods of economic, political and military power -- THE gods of OIL -- as it has been counseled to do, for over fifty years since the establishment of the State of Israel, by America's false prophets, modern day equivalents of the false prophets of the Egyptian Pharaoh and those of the Babylonian Nebuchadnezzar.
America is sustained ENTIRELY by its spiritual oil wells which are found in the G-d of Israel, Who has brought the Children of Israel back to the Land of Israel. Those spiritual oil wells will ONLY be found in the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount of Yerushaliyim itself, NOT in the deserts of Arabia or the Persian Gulf.
AN AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY FOR AMERICA
America MUST move from the "even-handed" approach that has characterized its foreign policy towards Israel for over 50 years to a policy of UNCONDITIONAL, ABSOLUTE, NO-ANDS-IFS-OR-BUTS SUPPORT for heChildren of Israel in ALL of the Land of Israel.
This new foreign policy, an "American Foreign Policy for America", as one commentator calls it, must be based on American recognition of the Covenants: G-d's Noahide Covenant and Laws for all humanity and G-d's Three Covenants with Israel:
The PEOPLE Covenant (G-d chose the Children of Israel to be His People)
The TORAH Covenant (G-d gave His Torah to the Children of Israel)
The LAND Covenant (G-d gave the Land of Israel to the Children of Israel)
America's Founding Fathers believed in G-d. They feared G-d and respected His Covenants. Tragically, far too many of the Founding Fathers' descendents, who may be found among today's ruling American "elites", have forgotten them.

Mel Gibson/Abe Foxman
Mel Gibson is just following his leaders, lying politicians (Pope John Paul II Was No Saint), who hate the Jews and pretend they don't; who see Jews as obstacles to their control of Jerusalem and the Holy Land of Israel; who utter pretty platitudes while their hearts are full of ugly hate and deceit, plotting in the bloody Vatican to demand the enforcement of UN Resolution 181, coveting the Temple Mount.
Abe Foxman (ADL National Director) is right and wrong and as hypocritical as Mel Gibson; having the chutzpah to criticize again a movie of great interest to Catholics and their misled Protestant daughters, proselytizing in a professing Christian country, something Jews would be up in arms if a Christian leader said something in Israel against Judaism (which they're up in arms whenever Pat Robertson or somebody actually says something true); acts interested in Judaism but doesn't follow it to the Jewish Homeland of Israel, choosing to sinfully remain in a self-imposed exile.
