Will Toledo dive or soar?

Toledo, Ohio has the Maumee River, location, etc. but it seems almost every dazzling proposal ends up being a dud. There's a depressing loser spirit or something restraining Toledo from greatness. Carty Finkbeiner has his good and bad points, but if he wasn't able to get Toledo to soar, being so gung-ho for Toledo, who can?

Bridge Day Festival in West Virginia

New River Gorge Bridge, WV

New River Gorge Bridge Day™ 2007
West Virginia's largest one-day festival celebrates 29 years from the first Bridge Walk!

Bridge Day Home

I'm happy to have been able to enjoy Bridge Day this year in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. It was a beautiful Sabbath day and the Fall colors were in full force. I walked the entire length of the bridge and was thinking I should contact Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner, and suggest such a day for us here in Toledo, Ohio with our new bridge, The Veterans' Glass City Skyway - but preferably for a Sunday stroll.

Sabbath walks & talks in Toledo metroparks

I don't know where you are, but here in Toledo, Ohio the Sabbath has begun as the sun has set. It's still chilly, even though today was sunny.
I look forward to warmer weather when I can again walk and talk with friends, invigorating spiritual fellowship, in some of our lovely parks God has provided us with (and a few smart humans have made it a point to preserve).

Trails

Developed hiking trails in the park include the Mouse Trail, a 3-mile diverse trail winding through meadows and young woodlands, and several miles of paved combination trails for bicycling and cross-country skiing. Hikers will discover acres of meadow, marshland and woodland. A 2-mile boardwalk traversing swamp and marsh wetlands has interpretive signs, an observation blind and tower, and wheelchair accessible loop.

Perlean Griffin adds insult to injury of Toledo and Mayor Carty Finkbeiner

Now for the latest in the Toledo, Ohio scandal of ungrateful Perlean Griffin, originally hired by Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner for $70,000 per year to an Affirmative Action office (that should have never been opened and the Mayor wants to close, among others, to cut the deficit): that wicked woman has the gall to call the mayor who hired her (and a disproportionate amount of other blacks) - "RACIST!"

Of course, Griffin has now collaborated with two other disgruntled black city employees to join her illicit "civil lawsuit" and accuses the mayor of running the city like a "plantation." (Well, at least they're all Democrats - imagine if Carty were a Republican). Such discontents never fail to find some black folk and liberal whites to pollute the atmosphere and protest, today outside the Toledo government center. Kick her to the curb!

I wonder if Carty Finkbeiner could counter sue to teach those who always cry "victim" due to race an important lesson in justice and humility.
Clearly Ms. Griffin's race didn't keep Carty from hiring her and he completely denies race had anything to do with her firing. I believe our Mayor.

Perlean Griffin ought to be ashamed of herself and her minister husband sounds like he has shirked his responsibilities to teach his own household a thing or two.

Close Affirmative Action/Contract Compliance Offices Nationwide

March 7, 2007 | City of Toledo
Mayor fires aide who won't back cuts
Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner yesterday fired Perlean Griffin, executive director of the city's Office of Affirmative Action/Contract Compliance, over her refusal to support his downgrading of the office.
************************

Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner is working hard to cut Toledo's budget deficit. The "Affirmative Action/Contract Compliance" is an office Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner wants to close. It should have never been opened in the first place. Clearly it was not necessary and too expensive, as other departments are capable of enforcing the law and hearing any grievances, real or imagined. If some feel they need a watchdog group, let them go open their own office at their expense.

Perlean Griffin, who was in charge of Toledo's racist
"Affirmative Action/Contract Compliance" office since 1988, wasted $70,000 a year of taxpayer's money, as far as I am concerned. Yet she isn't grateful but has obstructed progress and hindered the mayor's efforts to save Toledo money, so he fired her. She was even offered the job of commissioner!

It's past time cities nationwide close such politically correct offices. They're just not right.
